A simple but effective general mental health app. It has plenty of features such as positive and negative habit tracking, breathing techniques, and many more. Finally, we have notOK, which works as a panic alert system for suicidal thoughts. These are some of the best mental health apps for Android.

Calm

Calm programs are for better sleep, relaxation, de-stressing, mindfulness, calming anxiety, self-esteem, and a whole bunch more. It is largely regarded as the best meditation app of its direct competitor Headspace. You must understand that this app provides various guided meditation services. You can choose the duration that best suits your needs.

You can choose from different scenes and sounds to build up your meditation, yoga, or attempts to fall asleep. It is an excellent app and one that I have found useful in the past. Calm has something for everyone.

What’s Up?

It works to help control anxiety, depression, stress, anger problems, and panic attacks. It also includes a habit tracker to reinforce good habits and cut out bad ones, breathing techniques, a game of 100 questions to keep you grounded, a diary for symptom tracking, and many more. It is a general mental health app that borrows techniques from Acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) and Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

This app is great to start for anyone looking to step outside of themselves for a bit to gain a new perspective on things. What’s Up? is an excellent companion to have with, either if you’ve been diagnosed with something or fighting it for years. 

notOK

The notOK is a basic app, which can be supported via in-app purchase; it has a red panic button, but simple apps are sometimes all that’s needed to save a life. The app’s features are a panic alarm system, alerting your contacts, in fact, not okay. You can set up to 5 people as your support network from the app. The app then texts a message to them, saying you’re not okay and need help (in the form of a text, a visit, or a call). Also, it sends your GPS coordinates so that your support network can find you easily. Mostly, the teenagers developed notOK for fellow teens facing the dark shroud of suicidal thoughts and imagination. In the new generation, we’re facing serious suicide issues, so; we’re a big fan of things to do their best to get rid of it. Fortunately, adults also can get the same benefits from it.

Other great options

Genuinely, the top 3 are more generalized, so many people can find something they need in them. Although, others mentioned below are any less important. Comparatively, they may be more specialized to a specific feature of mental health.

This app is a fantastic option for training your mental health; either you’re a beginner or already know how to keep track of your mental health.
