Elden Ring Player Finds Funny Metal Gear Solid Message

Elden Ring has finally released to the world following quite a while of trailers and news that lead to numerous most expected game awards. With both pundit reviews and player numbers reaching record highs for a FromSoftware title, Elden Ring has satisfied everyone's expectations and then some.

However Elden Ring is experiencing performance issues and has since send off, many fans have still been amazed by the game. Rather than take the traditional linear pathing indicative of a considerable lot of FromSoftware's titles, instead Elden Ring puts significant emphasis on casual exploration of its massive environment, allowing players to turn out to be extremely strong before they even battle a story boss.

FromSoftware has a famous yet divisive reputation for delivering some of the most challenging games in the industry, dissuading players. Nonetheless, Elden Ring's departure from the troublesome linear design of past games has attracted new gamers from many backgrounds that typically could never have attempted a FromSoftware game. An illustration of this would be Metal Gear Solid fans, such as one fan who made Venom Snake in Elden Ring.

Along with a fan making a person based on Snake, another fan chose to reference the person through Elden Ring's in-game message system. The result was Reddit user RavGn finding the message which incited them to make a post on the Metal Gear Solid subreddit. The post has done well indeed, which is significant considering it's a screenshot of a game that has nothing to do with the Metal Gear Solid series. The message itself was an immediate reference to Snake, prompting the player to attempt a stealth approach. Considering that Metal Gear Solid might be the pinnacle of stealth games, the message is perfect both in situation and content.

The comments under RavGn's post were a blend of Metal Gear Solid references as well as discourse on Elden Ring. One user noted another message they found referencing the franchise that said "snake! snake! ascend the stepping stool!" This is a reference to a famous and hilarious second from Metal Gear Solid 3 where Snake is tasked with climbing a stepping stool so long that the game's whole theme song starts and finishes before the ascension does. Another user regretted Elden Ring's restricted messaging capabilities, saying they couldn't state "what a rush" at the highest point of an exceptionally high stepping stool, once again referencing the scene and the song.

Regardless of restricted messaging or image references, RavGn's post is a perfect crossover between fans of two distinct franchises who were united through their games. Indeed, even as other users were cracking jokes, one remark asked whether Elden Ring merited buying, and there were certainly other users who might have been attracted to the game by the post. For those with slightly less stealth skill than Snake, an Elden Ring guide on stealth should have players slinking past risk like the Metal Gear Solid protagonist.
