PRP-Cream

The new PRP serum face cream is made from the patient's own blood plasma. For this purpose, it requires that patients visit a doctor's office/clinic to have their blood drawn. After the blood plasma is extracted (just like conventional autologous PRP blood processing), it is added to the PRP serum donor and mixed. The resulting PRP cream is to be used twice daily and stored in the refrigerator.

The PRP serum cream is fully compatible with your individual skin type and can now improve your skin texture.

WHAT PRP THERAPY IS AND WHY IT IS USED

It is an amazing fact that human blood can be used to minimise the effects of an injury - for example, to relieve pain in a joint. Without going into too much detail, this is approximately how PRP therapy works. But let's take a closer look at what it is, how it works, and why its use can alleviate pain and make life easier for the patient.

WHAT IS PRP THERAPY?

PRP therapy is a modern method of treatment for ligaments, tendons, joints, muscles and bones. It involves injecting the patient's blood plasma enriched with platelets into the problem area (e.g. joint).

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. PRP therapy can be used not only in orthopaedics, but also in microsurgery, cosmetology, trichology and even in gynaecology. However, in this article we will focus on the use of PRP-therapy in orthopaedics and traumatology.

WHEN IS PRP-THERAPY USED?

The range of PRP-therapy in orthopaedics is quite wide. For example, the method can be used to:

Reduce inflammation and pain in the joints;

  • eliminate muscle spasms;
  • Improve mobility of joints;
  • stimulate blood circulation in tissues that have been damaged by injury or disease;
  • improve repair and nutrition of tissues;
  • to restore the joint fluid;
  • Accelerate the healing process.

How does the PRP treatment work?

The procedure itself is quite simple: first, blood (approximately 20 ml) is taken from a patient's vein. The blood is then placed in a special device - a centrifuge. There, plasma, which contains a large number of platelets, is extracted from the blood. The doctor then collects the plasma into a syringe and injects it into the required area - for example, into the shoulder joint.

PRP treatment is a relatively simple and short procedure, lasting on average about 20-30 minutes. It is performed under local anaesthesia, so the procedure is not painful or uncomfortable for the patient.

WHAT WILL BE THE RESULT?

The results will depend on the purpose of the PRP treatment. Generally, an improvement after a minor injury can be observed after the first treatment - the level of pain is reduced and the patient feels better. To maintain the effect, 2 to 6 PRP procedures are recommended.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR PRP-TREATMENT?

No special preparation is required. A few days should exclude alcohol consumption, as well as unhealthy food - fatty, fried, smoked and salted. On the day of treatment, physical labour is not recommended, either before or after the procedure. After PRP treatment, you should not heat the injection site, as it may affect the final result. Also, during the following week, you should avoid excessive physical activity and put no weight on the joint.

ARE THERE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS TO PRP THERAPY?

PRP therapy is not indicated if a patient is suffering from inflammatory processes, fever or feeling unwell. PRP treatment is also not recommended for pregnant women, those suffering from diabetes or serious diseases of the immune system.
