We definitely want to do this, but when it comes to search engine optimization, you're not going to be able to outspend Yelp for that position. So you get there by being the local authority and local websites do make it to the first page, but they have to be great. So we'll go into that in a second as well. The green check mark is significant because it stands out from the other emojis on the first page. It means that the person has passed a Google screen to background check, which is different state by state. The client doesn't know any of this, but they see the words "Google screened" and they infer that Google trusts these people. So before they've even looked at your profile, there's already trust built in. This is phenomenal because it puts you at the top of the first page.


Another thing that you want to look for is reviews. These reviews are important for a few reasons. One, they show that you're an active user of Google My Business. And so that's important to Google. They want to see that you're using their platform. And so the more reviews you have, the better. But also, people trust reviews. And so when they're looking at your profile and they see that you have reviews, they're going to be more likely to trust you.

You will also need to provide some information about your website, such as the website's URL and the Google Analytics tracking ID.

From there, you will be able to add and remove websites from your account, as well as view statistics about the traffic that your website is receiving.
