Baseball is played wherever diamonds can be made from a replica of a field, from mud huts to driveways, to sugarcane grasslands, to billions of dollars in state-of-the-art stadiums. You can even watch it and the myriad of variations it offers by creative kids and high school students, and professional athletes of the highest calibre.

The ultimate goal for the majority of players can be in Major League Baseball (MLB). The following article provides a more detailed glance at MLB before you watch an MLB Broadcast or, let's say, 스포츠중계 and will explain how the league functions and what you can do to watch and analyze the game at a professional level:

•             Major League Baseball consists of two leagues - both the American as well as the National. Each league comprises the equivalent of 15 teams as well as three divisions. A commissioner chosen from the owner of 30 teams oversees the league.

•             Statistics are used to evaluate players, that is, the number of numbers they generate during a particular season. The most widely accepted statistics are:

The batting rate: It measures what percentage of a batter’s at-bats is based on base hits.

RBIs (RBIs): This stat is a measure of the total number of runs that a batter generates through his bats, with a slight exception to runs that are scored because of errors made by players on the field. A batter gets the status of an RBI when he scores a strike (including home runs) or an infield out, sacrifice bunt fly, infield strike, or fielder's choice, which can result in a runner scoring. Also, if a batter is hit by a ball (base upon balls) or hit by a ball, or blocked, and ends up on base, where the bases are filled, leading to an out and the batter scores an RBI.

Home Run: If a batter is safely home after only one swing. Most home runs are hit through the outfield fence; however, occasionally, a batter hits an inside-the-park home run. This happens when the batter strikes the ball in the field of play but can cover all bases without being hit out or having an error made.

"On-base per cent" (OBP): This statistic is used to determine how often batters reach base. It's roughly equal to the time at the base, divided by appearances on the plate.

Slugging Average: The number of bases in total divided by the number of bats. This statistic is a measure of the power of a batter. OBP is combined with slugging to determine on-base plus Slugging (OPS).
