In spite of its origins, the phrase Internet of Everything is also used occasionally by other companies

The term "Internet of Everything" was coined by Cisco but is also used by other companies on occasion, even if de facto in the public's perception it is primarily associated with Cisco and most resources come from Cisco, so you'll hear the name Cisco quite a bit in this overview (we are not affiliated in any way). Knowing that Cisco is not only a major player in the Internet of Things landscape, but also plays a leading role in networks, security, human interaction (in business), and the optimization of business and industrial processes, there is a branding aspect to the Internet of Everything.


The Internet of Things brings people, processes, data, and physical objects together in intelligent ways. With billions of devices with sensors and connectivity to private, public, and proprietary networks, the Internet of Things can make us more efficient. Data is converted into smarter decisions, while processes are delivered to the right person at the right time. And when all of these are connected, the result is a better world.
