Selecting a comfortable sofa that's right for you

It is easy to get lost in the design of bespoke sofas without considering comfort. It's helpful to imagine how you will use your furniture. There are some things you can think about if your vision involves long, relaxing lounge sessions, movie nights hosting, or just settling down for a mid-day nap. This is what we have been doing for over 15 years. We have done all the research, and we've put it together for your benefit. Keep reading, friends.

These are five tips that will help you select the right sectional or couch for you.

Rule 1: Start with the right height of your sofa to

It is important to consider how you sit before you can determine the best seat depth. Do you prefer to be seated on your back or your feet?

It is best to sit straight up. It is a good idea to choose a seat that supports your legs and allows your knees to bend at 90 degrees. You can also feel your feet touch the ground with a seat that supports your thighs. For people between 5'4 and 5'10, a seat depth of 21'-22'" is the ideal. This will allow you to have plenty of space between your legs, and the seat's front edge. For taller persons, a seat depth of 23'-25'" is ideal. A depth of 20 inches might be an option for smaller people. Some people prefer to curl up rather than sit straight. A deep sofa is a good choice. You can start by increasing the size of your sofa by a few more inches. To add extra support, accent pillows can be added to your sofa by going deeper. A sectional sofa may be more spacious than a regular sofa, depending on your requirements.

Rule 2 - Be aware of the height and weight of your sofa's seats.

Taller people may feel more like they're sitting down than squatting if the seat height of the sofa is too low. People on the shorter side might feel their legs hang above the ground. It is a rule of thumb that the deeper the seat depth, the higher the required seat height. Comfortable couches today have many different seat height options. The average range is between 17-18 inches. These foams are known for their comfort and durability. Medley only uses materials that are good both for the environment and for your health. These materials include certified poly foam as well as organic Dunlop latex that is GOALS certified organic Dunlop. Wool and down fillings look great for a relaxed look. You may sink slightly if you choose a down cushion for your seat cushion. It is possible for the down filling to shift. This is normal. Fluffing the cushions is a good idea to keep them in shape. Your sofa cushions should have baffling. This allows you to control the down filling's movement and holds it in place. If you need extra support or prefer to sit upright, a sofa with a firm cushion and tight back would be a good choice. You may prefer looser back cushions if you are planning to use your sofa for reclining and naps.

Rule 3: Focus on length to allow you to lounge as

If you plan to use the sofa often, a 3-seater is more comfortable. A 3-seat sofa measures approximately 7 feet in length (or 84 inches). You can make it shorter or longer depending on your height.

Rule 4: When deciding on style, consider the height of your back.

The ideal height for your sofa's back will depend on your height. If you plan to place a TV in front of your sofa, consider whether you need a headrest. For the most comfortable sofa, the average back height is between 26'" and 32". Higher backs will be more supportive for taller people. Your sofa's back height will impact the comfort of your space. Think about how different a sofa with a higher back and an 8-foot ceiling will look in your room to one with a low profile. It all depends on your preferences and the space available.

Rule 5 - To recline or not to recline Consider the angle of your back

Pitch sofas, also known by sofas with slightly angled backs are ideal if you use your sofa primarily to recline. You can sit straight on this type of sofa, but it is best for people with back problems or prefer a more vertical layout. Have a look at your self! These are our top five tips.
