Thus, we have the 2021 Ford Expedition, which competes alongside the Chevrolet Tahoe against international upstarts like the Toyota Sequoia. Nothing less than a V6 would do for American buyers, so of course that's what Ford stuck under the hood. It develops up to 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque and is available with a genuine four-wheel drivetrain. All this power helps move the full-size SUV, and up to eight passengers on the inside, as well as a fair amount of cargo. With a fair assortment of driver assists and a modicum of creature comforts, the 2021 Expedition is a top contender for those who want to make their money really work for them.

2021 Ford Expedition Changes: What’s the difference vs 2020 Ford Expedition?

The automotive paparazzi already spied the facelifted 2022 Expedition, which means this year's additions are limited. Nevertheless, the base-model Expedition SUV is now called the XL STX; instead of the standard three-row configuration, this new model only has two rows. Other additions include Ford's Co-Pilot 360 Assist now being available as an optional extra on the XLT trim, and two new colors for the exterior, namely Antimatter Blue and Kodiak Brown.

Only the largest of SUVs or those that value performance above other considerations still use V6 and V8 engines.
