What are the Tips for guessing the correct answer in MCQs?

College entrance exams, classroom tests, and most other exams contain multiple choice questions. Since if you are preparing to enter college, competitive exam, civil services exam, then surely you will face these types of questions on tests, learning some test taking strategies will be very beneficial.

On the other hand, if you are preparing some exam like MPPSC, UPSC, NEET, JEE, SSC, Banking this is the most common question that comes to the mind of the candidates "How to find one correct answer out of the given four options."

Firstly, your concepts should be clear- this will help you to understand the question and keep the correct answer in your mind in the form of response.

Thorough study of whole syllabus- this will definitely help you to eliminate the wrong ones.

And here is the key tip "How to be sure of your answer out of four"

HOW TO PREPARE FOR MCQS:

To get good grades in the multiple-choice exam, start by analyzing the questions. Then, answer questions effectively by strategically working through them. You can also prepare for the exam so that you perform well and score high marks.

THE GOLDEN RULE OF GUESSING:

This is the most important rule - eliminate the wrong choices first. They help you narrow down the question to at least three or, if you're lucky, two options. Each MCQ has an option that basically screams "Of course I'm not perfect". Always eliminate the obviously wrong choices first - they all help you through different types of problems. For example, if one option is "all" and you know that one of the options is wrong, then you have to choose between two options.

QUESTIONS WITH OPTIONS LIKE "ALL OF THESE"/"NONE OF THESE":

The 'none' and 'all' options are rarely the answers to a given question. But here's the thing: Now that paper setters know that students will avoid answering questions with these options, they sometimes set questions with such answers.

AVOID EXTREMES IF THE ANSWER IS NUMBER-BASED:

If the options are 4, 456, 7 and -84, you can be fairly sure that 456 and -84 are not the answers. The answers are usually between numbers that are close or confusing says mppsc coaching in indore.

WHEN TWO ALTERNATIVES HAVE SIMILAR SOUNDING WORDS, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THEM:

If two test options are nearly identical in spelling, then one of them is probably the correct answer. Paper setters like to throw two similar choices at you to level you up. If you're guessing, it usually gives you a 50/50 shot.

WHEN TWO CHOICES ARE COMPLETE OPPOSITES, ONE OF THEM IS PROBABLY CORRECT:

If your two choices are the exact opposite, there is a good chance that one of them is the correct answer. This is a trick used to steer students away, and to make sure they really know the material.

DON'T READ THE QUESTIONS TOO DEEPLY:

When you don't really know the answer to a question, it's easy to over-analyze. You may wonder if this is a tricky question or if there is some sort of deeper meaning. Most of the time the question has exactly what it says and you should take it at face value. If you're already confused, there's no point in making things more complicated for yourself.

Practice it as much as you can. It will improve your score!
