Everything To Know About The Honda Defective Paint Lawsuit

The Honda defective paint class action lawsuit is brought by all Honda owners from the state of California and New York who own a Honda 2020 model. The Class members are seeking damages and claims sustained by them.

The owners are seeking damages for the breach of the manufacturer's warranty. They also state that it breaches implied warranty and unfair competition laws.

This was just the outline, in today's article, we will discuss the Honda defective paint class action lawsuit.

How it started-

There has been a class action lawsuit filed against Honda. It claims that the 2003-2007 Accords and Civic have defective paint. This paint delaminates, peels, and fades over time.

This lawsuit was filed by two plaintiffs, including a New York resident who alleges that a portion of her Honda Accord 2003 started delaminating and also began exhibiting areas and splotches of deterioration.

Over time the paint has deteriorated severely and to a great extent.

When the plaintiff brought her car to a Honda dealership, they denied her request because it was beyond the 3year/36,000 miles warranty.

In modern cars, the paint of the vehicle is expected to last the vehicle's lifetime except for accidents. The vehicle owner doesn't have to spend thousands of dollars on their car to get it stripped and re-painted.

Honda, however, has manufactured vehicles with defective paint. This leaves the owner with a vehicle with an unacceptable appearance. In addition, the delamination of body parts results in erosion. All this was included in the lawsuit.

The Honda defective paint class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of California and New York owners of the model of 2003-2007. It is seeking damages and losses sustained by the Class members and relief for breach of express warranty, breach of implied warranty of merchantability, and violation of California's unfair competition law.

What to do if you think you are a victim too?

If you feel you are a Honda defective paint victim, you can contact your attorney. From there onwards, the attorney can decide whether or not you should file a lawsuit.

If you decide to go forward, you must sign a written agreement before your attorney. The agreement will detail how they plan to proceed further and how it can be settled.

The plaintiffs are usually ready to settle cases outside the court.

Bottom line,

If you feel you are the victim of defective paint, you can contact the experts at Allen Stewart. If you are the owner of Lemon Honda, the experts here can help you claim damages and seek them.
