Inhalation Anesthesia refers to the use of anesthetic medicines to keep the body in a state of general anesthesia and drowsiness during surgery. Nitrous oxide, desflurane, isoflurane, and sevoflurane are some of the most regularly used inhalation anesthetics. A laryngeal facial airway and a tracheal tube attached to a vaporizer are used to give these anesthetics. They are highly effective in modest dosages, but when used excessively, they can cause respiratory depression, lower arterial blood pressure, and increase cerebral blood flow. In contrast to standard intravenous anesthesia, inhalation anaesthetic does not build in the body and aids in preventing excessive dosage while supporting normal patient functioning.


Inhalation Anesthesia, also known as volatile anesthetic agents, are anesthetics that can induce and maintain general anesthesia and drowsiness. They are administered by inhalation, particularly in patients for whom intravenous and other modes of administration are ineffective. Desflurane, sevoflurane, and nitrous oxide are the most often used inhalation anesthetic in practice today, with sevoflurane having a faster onset of action and a faster recovery rate. Inhalation anesthetics cause a decrease in arterial blood pressure, respiratory depression, and an increase in cerebral blood flow. The side effect of inhalation anesthetic products is nausea.
