Do you want to know how to create an API key and DigitalOcean space? You can get our assistance.

As part of our DigitalOcean Managed Services, Skynats frequently receives inquiries about DigitalOcean.

Let's look at how to create a DigitalOcean space and an API key.

How to Create a DigitalOcean Space?

Let's now examine the process used by our support engineers to create a new space.

You can make a new Space by clicking the Create button, which is located in the upper-right-hand corner of the Control Panel. After selecting Spaces from the dropdown, we click the button.

If no space has yet been created, one can be made right there on the Spaces page.

  • To start, we click "Spaces" in the Control Panel's main navigation.
  • We then select "Create a space." We will reach the "Create a Space" screen with either choice:
  • After creating a space, we first give it a name. The name has to be original.
  • We then pick the datacenter region that corresponds to the space that we want to be in.
  • Finally, we decide if we want to allow anonymous users to list out all files in the space. However, access to specific files is unaffected by this.
  • After choosing the name and other options, we scroll down and press the "Create a Space" button. Space will eventually be produced.

NOTE: A welcome.html file will be visible in the area if this is the first instance. Otherwise, it will be vacant.

We also need to write down the space's URL. In the file browser view, it will be accessible under the Space name.

Establishing an Access Key

We must create an access key and secret in order to access the files from somewhere other than the DigitalOcean Control Panel. These two unrelated tokens serve as the username and password for accessing Space.

  • In the Control Panel's main navigation, we first click on the API link. A page with a list of the access keys for "Spaces" and the "DigitalOcean API" appears. Scrolling down, we reach the Spaces section.
  • The 'Generate New Key' button is then clicked. The 'New Spaces key' dialog box will appear:
  • Next, we give the key a name. We are free to produce as many keys as we want. However, deleting a key is the only way to revoke access to it. So, depending on who, what, or what software you're using to access the keys, we might need to partition them.
  • We click the "Generate Key" button after entering the key name.
  • As a result, an API screen listing all the keys will be returned.
