Blood Clots Form In Veins When Veins Suffer From Venous Thromboembolism (VTE)

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), two connected disorders that fall under the same spectrum, are included in Venous Thromboembolism (VTE). The disease's spectrum includes clinically inconsequential, clinically important, and major embolism that results in mortality. Deep vein thrombosis, also known as VTE, is a disorder in which a blood clot frequently develops in the deep veins of the leg, groyne, or arm and travels through the bloodstream before settling in the lungs (known as pulmonary embolism, PE). Combined, DVT and PE are referred to as Venous Thromboembolism (VTE), which is a serious medical condition that can be fatal.

Thrombosis types

·      A blood clot that develops in a deep vein, generally in the thigh, groyne, or arm, is known as a deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

·      A blood clot called a pulmonary embolism (PE) happens when a DVT clot escapes from a vein wall and goes to the lungs, where it blocks part or all of the blood flow. PE is frequently lethal.

·      PE + DVT Equals VTE VTE refers to both DVT and PE as a whole.

Similar to deep vein thromboses (DVTs), which develop in the deep veins of the legs or in the pelvic veins, superficial venous thromboses are uncomfortable but typically do not have major effects. Yet, if the clot head is close to the sapheno-femoral junction and is inadequately linked to the vein wall, they can travel to the deep veins through the perforator veins or they can cause a lung embolism.
