When it comes to choosing the right laser system for your needs, there are a variety of factors to consider. One of the most important factors is the type of material you will be laser-cutting. Different materials require different types of lasers with different power levels and capabilities.

What Is A CO2 Laser System?

A CO2 laser system is a device that uses carbon dioxide gas as the lasing medium. CO2 Laser Engravers often use this type of laser for industrial applications, because it can produce a high-power beam with a very high degree of precision. CO2 laser systems for acrylic is composed of three main parts, i.e.;

1.   Laser Head

2.   Power Supply

3.   Gas Delivery System

The laser head contains the laser cavity, the mirrors, and the focusing lens. The power supply provides electrical power to the laser head, and the gas delivery system delivers CO2 gas to the laser head. When CO2 Laser Engravers turn on the CO2 laser system, the high-voltage power supply sends a current through the laser cavity.

This current causes the atoms in the CO2 gas to vibrate, and the energy from the current forms a laser beam. The laser beam is directed out of the laser cavity through the mirrors and the focusing lens. The focusing lens focuses the laser beam into a small spot, and the laser beam is then delivered to the workpiece.

Pros Of CO2 Laser For Acrylic

There are several benefits to using a CO2 Laser System For Acrylic fabrication. CO2 lasers are particularly well suited to acrylics because they produce a high-quality, smooth cut with minimal distortion. Additionally, CO2 lasers are extremely fast, making them ideal for large-scale fabrication projects.

Drawbacks Of A CO2 Laser For Acrylic

A CO2 laser system is a great choice for acrylic because it can cut through the material quickly and easily. One of the major drawbacks of these system is that it can be difficult to get a smooth finish on curved surfaces. Additionally, the heat from the laser can cause the acrylic to warp or melt, so it is important to be careful when using it.
