Nara Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the seed park on October 9th, 2022. The seed park, which spans an area of 650 acres, will receive ₹190 crores in the first phase of the next budget. The objective of the seed park is to produce qualitative seed, which will help farmers avoid losses due to spurious seeds and pesticides. This is a much-needed step, given that the farmers in the state have been struggling with the issue of fake seeds and pesticides for a long time. Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, during a recent review meeting in the Collectorate conference hall, stated that the seed park would not only help farmers but also create job opportunities in the area. The state government has asked the District Collector S. Satyanarayana to forward proposals for laying a 220 kv electrical line and the construction of a processing unit, laboratory, administrative building, compound wall, water, and internal roads in the seed park.
