These microscopes require more time, preparation, and precision than a stereo microscope. Your students will find the fascinating and rewarding process of looking at cells engaging if they have the right mindset and skills. Children 10 years and older could consider a compound microscope.

Portability

Consider how easily your new microscope can fit in a school environment, where space is limited. The smaller models take up less space and are easier to transport for children.

Look for models that allow you to attach any moving parts securely to your microscope so that they don’t get lost.

Usability

How easily can your microscope be set up? It is easier to learn than spend time preparing equipment. For younger students, simpler models can be easily plugged in and set up. You won’t have to spend half of the lesson setting up microscopes. Some microscopes have pre-set illumination functions that allow students to see their samples faster.

Durability
