Natural mineral water properties

"Natural mineral water" is a term used to describe "microbiologically wholesome." Still, it is also guaranteed to be free of the most common sources of contamination (parasites and pathogenic microorganisms, Escherichia coli and fecal streptococci, sporulated sulfite-reducing anaerobes, pseudomonas aeruginosa) at both the point of production and distribution. Geological and hydrological proof of the water's natural mineral content is necessary, as is a thorough description of the catchment site that considers the topography, hydrogeological stratigraphy, and extraction methods used to produce the water in question.

Physical, chemical, and physicochemical, which means a report on the primary physical and chemical analysis used to describe the mineral water's final characteristics (such as the spring's flow rate, the temperature at source, dry residues at 180°, pH, anions, and cations, trace elements, the toxicity of certain constituent parts); microbiological, which means checking for the absence of the main contamination indicators; possible pharmacological, physiological, and clinical effects. Clinical investigations are necessary to verify the physiological effects and advantages on human health; these studies should be scientific, done over extended periods, and use various research methods.

Table, dietary, and therapeutic waters are the three broad categories into which natural mineral waters fall. Pharmaceutical and clinical studies have shown that healing waters may help prevent and cure various diseases. Under medical supervision, they are consumed, inhaled, irrigated, bathed with, and covered in mud at spas. Mineral waters are often categorized based on their flow velocity, temperature, freezing point, dry residues at 180 °C, prevalent ion compositions, and primary biological activity. When classifying mineral water, chemical makeup and mineral content matter more.
