Pavers that permit rainwater to flow into the crevices between them are known as permeable pavers. These pavers' permeability is made possible by their design and the foundation material that is employed. The rock basis beneath permeable pavers is, well, permeable, in contrast to the compactable gravel or sand that is often laid beneath ordinary pavers. The base serves as a reservoir and permits water to slowly percolate into the ground. About all of the rainwater that falls on permeable pavers is collected, and the rock reservoir beneath the pavers may store an astounding volume of water. Regular maintenance is necessary for permeable pavers to remain effective. Debris, silt, and organic material can accumulate over time and clog the cracks between the pavers, preventing water from draining into the reservoir below.
