Fc Protein And Glycoengineered Antibodies Has Been Modified To Treating Diseases

IgE is involved in the immune response to parasites and is responsible for allergic reactions. The Fc portion of IgE antibodies can bind to receptors on mast cells and basophils. When IgE binds to these cells, it triggers the release of inflammatory mediators such as histamine and leukotrienes. This leads to the symptoms of allergy, such as itching, swelling, and difficulty breathing.

Fc Protein And Glycoengineered Antibodies are a type of antibody that has been modified to enhance their effectiveness in treating diseases. The modifications are made to the Fc portion of the antibody, specifically to the glycan molecules that are attached to the protein. Glycans are complex sugars that are attached to proteins and play an important role in protein function. In the case of antibodies, the glycans on the Fc portion of the protein can affect the binding of the antibody to receptors on other cells, as well as its half-life in the bloodstream.

Fcγ receptors are found on a variety of immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and natural killer cells. When IgG binds to Fcγ receptors, it activates these cells and triggers the release of inflammatory mediators such as cytokines and chemokines. This leads to an influx of immune cells to the site of infection, where they can eliminate the pathogen.

FcRn receptors are found on the surface of endothelial cells in the blood vessels. When IgG binds to FcRn, it is protected from degradation and has a longer half-life in the bloodstream. This is important for maintaining a high concentration of antibodies in the blood and ensuring a rapid immune response to any pathogens that enter the body.

IgA is another type of antibody that is found in mucosal tissues such as the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. The Fc portion of IgA antibodies can bind to a variety of receptors on other cells, including the polymeric immunoglobulin receptor (pIgR) on epithelial cells
