National Education Policy 2020 - How Is It Transforming the Indian Education System?

India’s National Education Policy (NEP) teaches the core principles, doctrines and values necessary for an individual to lead a good life. It has the vision to provide an education system to the young mind that sustainably transforms the country into an excellent knowledge and skills society by providing high-quality education to all, to make India an international knowledge superpower.

The National Education Policy 2020  focuses on several key areas, including improving the quality of education, increasing access to education and promoting inclusiveness and equity. The new policy also seeks to offer a more diverse and flexible range of academic pathways, allowing students to pursue the topics that interest them the most and suit their goals and talents.

National Education Policy 2020 recommends using technology to develop teacher training and provide teachers with access to new research and the most excellent practices in the education system. There are endless changes formulated by the National Education Policy 2020; the following are some of the fundamental changes –
