Transition Your Wardrobe from Winter to Spring

Is spring one of your favorite times of the year, too? I, for one, can't wait! We could use a little light and warmer air right now.

It can be hard to change your clothing from winter to spring, but the good news is that you don't have to buy all new clothes. But it's important to keep in mind that the weather is getting warmer and brighten up your clothes to welcome the new season.

CLEANOUT YOUR CLOSET

Take some time to clean out your closet before you start making changes to your clothing. Removing clothes you haven't worn or that don't fit is important. It will help you organize your room and see what you already have and need more clearly. More space means you can buy new clothes that better fit your style and needs.

WEAR MORE COLORS

During the winter, we tend to wear dark and neutral colors. When the weather gets warmer, and the flowers grow, we want to wear more colors or add brighter pieces to our clothes. Wear white more! Your outfit will be instantly more colorful if you wear white jeans, a white T-shirt, a white scarf, and a white jacket. Pink and purple, green and yellow, blue and green... Want to make your look more fun and fresh? Feel free to wear colors and mix them.

PLAY WITH PATTERNS

Put away all the snowflakes, fair isles, buffalo plaid, and cable knit designs. Wear patterns that shout "Spring!" Ways like flowers, polka dots, tie-dye, stripes, and gingham are all fun. You can keep your look balanced by pairing a piece with a design with a piece with no pattern, like a flowery dress. Mixing and matching different colors is another option. Don't be afraid to try new things and let your spring theme go crazy.

SWAP UP FABRICS

It can be hard to switch from winter fabrics to spring ones. Start by putting away the thick and heavy winter fabrics like cashmere, wool, and fur and replacing them with linen, silk, cotton, or denim. For example, you can put a denim jacket over a cotton dress or a light sweater over a silk top.
