5 Super Mart Items Experts Suggest for Maintaining Modern Plastic Dining Chairs

How to keep your premium range plastic dining chairs keep shining forever? We get this from many people. Plastic seating options are great for both traditional and modern interiors. In terms of colours, appearances, and materials, plastic furniture sets are unbeatable. Compared to chairs made of wood, metal, or fabric, plastic ones are cheaper but with a luxurious look. As per 2023 reports, the revenue of plastic and other furniture in Australia is expected to grow by 13.66% (CAGR of 2023-2027). Also, the number of users of plastic and other furniture is expected to grow by 2.31 million by 2027. Hence, investing in plastic chairs can be a great option. But what if your chairs get stained? Well, we’ll talk about that in the below blog post.

How to clean and maintain your luxurious plastic chairs?

Maintaining plastic chairs is easy. You don’t need to buy specialised cleaners for plastics. But you must maintain them in the right way. Or else, your plastic furniture will end up with ugly stains. Well, the below super mart items can help you get rid of these,

1. Soap and Water:

Soap and water combination is one of the most common and cheapest options for maintaining plastic furniture.

i) Simple water is enough for daily washing.

ii) Take a damp microfibre cloth and wipe down the surface to remove surface dirt.

iii) For stubborn dirt and dust, use mild dish soap.

iv) Mix the soap with warm water and clean the surface with a sponge/cloth soaked into the solution.

v) Afterwards, wipe down the surface to remove soap residues.

2. White Vinegar:

White vinegar is a great component to remove stains from plastic chairs.

i) Fill a bucket with hot water and add ¼ cup of white distilled vinegar into it.

ii) Wet your plastic chairs with water to remove the surface dirt and debris.

iii) Now take a brush/sponge to scrub down the chairs with the vinegar solution.

iv) Rinse off the solution with clean water and repeat the steps if the stain remains.

3. Laundry Detergent:

Did you know that you can use your laundry detergent to clean your premium plastic furniture?

i) Mix 1-gallon hot water and 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent (liquid/powder) in a large bucket.

ii) Pour it down into a spray bottle and spray the solution generously all over the chair.

iii) Scrub your plastic chair using a brush/sponge firmly yet gently.

iv) Leave the solution on the chair for a few minutes to remove more stubborn stains.

v) Rinse off the detergent with clean water and a cloth.

4. Bleach:

Bleach makes a great product to remove stains from plastic furniture. But it’ll be best to use it on white chairs, as it can discolour the coloured ones.

i) Fill a bucket with hot water and mix ¼ cup of bleach into it.

ii) Apply the bleach solution on your plastic chairs using a sponge/gentle bristle.

iii) Put gloves on your hands and start scrubbing the solution gently.

iv) Let it sit for a few minutes to get into the stains and take it out of your furniture.

v) Rinse off the solution using water and a clean cloth.

5. Baking Soda:

Baking soda is another affordable and widely available product you can use on plastic chairs. Aside from removing stains, baking soda can also deodorise your furniture.

i) Wet your furniture with clean water.

ii) Sprinkle baking soda all over the surface generously.

iii) Let it sit for at least 5 minutes to remove the dirt and odour from the chairs.

iv) Rinse off the baking soda with clean water and use a dry cloth to wipe off the residues.
