Ben Watson - All Out, All Game, All Season

“The smartest thing I did is I never gave up.”

- Ivan Rakitic

Regular physical activity such as walking, cycling, doing sports, or active recreation is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities. There are countless benefits associated with frequent physical activity. Some of these are:

·        Weight management

·        Better heart health

·        Strong bones and muscles

·        Improved stamina

Many athletes like Ben Watson who make it to the screen are idealized and loved by people due to their heroic performances, which encourages many to become an athlete. But one should keep in mind that in order to be a successful athlete like Watson, one needs to endorse physical movement first. Because an athlete first needs to be physically active, not necessarily competitive.

A strong vision is also a prerequisite because a strong mindset drives athletes to take action. It starts with a vision of something greater than where they are now, whatever that looks like. Secondly, one should be aware of the pain endured during certain plays as athletes are willing to risk injury and handle pain in order to reach their performance goals, and this is much more rational and normal than an exerciser doing the same.

Important qualities comprise athleticism, concentration, decision-making skills, dedication, eye-hand coordination, stamina, and the ability to work well as a team player. The main strengths of becoming a paid athlete or sports competitor are superior athletic talent and extensive knowledge of a chosen sport. Many people choose soccer (also called football, especially in other countries), which is a team sport involving 11 players on each side who use their legs, head, and torso to pass a ball and score goals.

Although soccer is idealized and loved by a huge population, few have the aptitude to make it to the top. Similarly, amidst those few stars stands Ben Watson, an American professional soccer player born on August 22, 1997. His excellence since a very young age assisted him to set the state scoring record his senior year with 61 goals.

In the picturesque setting of Northeastern State University, a young and ambitious athlete named Watson embarked on a journey that would set the stage for a remarkable career in soccer. Armed with a scholarship and boundless passion for the sport, Watson's presence on the field was nothing short of extraordinary. For four consecutive years, he wore the proud captain's armband for the Riverhawks, leading his team to the national tournament not once, but twice. It was during these formative years that Watson began to accumulate a string of accolades that would paint the canvas of his career with vibrant colors. Among these honors were the prestigious titles of Academic All-American, First Team All-Region, Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and Second Team All-Region.

What truly set Watson apart, however, was not just the recognition he received, but the undeniable charisma and skill he exhibited on the field. Every match was a spectacle, an exhilarating display of his prowess that left spectators in awe. The stadium echoed with applause and cheers as Watson consistently outshone his competitors, his nimble footwork and strategic brilliance shining under the spotlight.

But like many great athletes, Watson's journey had its twists and turns. Just as his star was ascending to even greater heights, fate intervened with a mid-season injury—a troublesome MCL injury to his knee. It was a heartbreaking setback, but Watson's resilience and determination remained unwavering. With the support of his team and fans, he made a valiant effort to recover and return to the pitch.

In a dramatic turn of events, Watson signed with Flower City Union in the National Independent Soccer Association in the United States. His comeback was eagerly awaited by fans and followers of the sport, and it did not disappoint. In a memorable match during the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, Watson played a full 90 minutes against the formidable MLS team, D.C. United. It was a testament to his indomitable spirit and skill, a moment that encapsulated the essence of his remarkable career.

In the annals of soccer history, Watson's journey from Northeastern State University to the pinnacle of American soccer was a story of talent, determination, and the enduring love for the beautiful game. His legacy as a captain, a scholar-athlete, and a true soccer icon continues to inspire generations of aspiring players, reminding them that with heart and skill, one can overcome any challenge that comes their way.
