A Course in Miracles, frequently abbreviated as ACIM, is just a profound and important religious text that appeared in the latter half of the 20th century. Comprising over 1,200 pages, that detailed perform is not just a guide but a whole class in religious change and inner healing. A Course in Wonders is exclusive in its approach to spirituality, pulling from numerous spiritual and metaphysical traditions presenting something of thought that aims to lead persons to a state of inner peace, forgiveness, and awareness with their true nature.

The beginnings of A Program in Miracles can be a course in miracles  back to the cooperation between two persons, Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford, equally of whom were prominent psychologists and researchers. The course's inception occurred in the first 1960s when Schucman, who was a medical and research psychiatrist at Columbia University's School of Physicians and Surgeons, started to see a series of inner dictations. She described these dictations as originating from an internal style that recognized it self as Jesus Christ. Schucman originally resisted these experiences, but with Thetford's encouragement, she began transcribing the communications she received.

Over a period of eight decades, Schucman transcribed what can become A Class in Wonders, amounting to three sizes: the Text, the Book for Pupils, and the Handbook for Teachers. The Text sits out the theoretical foundation of the program, elaborating on the core methods and principles. The Book for Pupils includes 365 instructions, one for each time of the year, developed to steer the reader through a daily exercise of applying the course's teachings. The Manual for Teachers provides further advice on the best way to realize and train the concepts of A Program in Miracles to others.

One of the main subjects of A Course in Miracles is the idea of forgiveness. The program teaches that correct forgiveness is the main element to internal peace and awakening to one's divine nature. According to their teachings, forgiveness is not merely a ethical or honest practice but a fundamental shift in perception. It involves making move of judgments, grievances, and the understanding of crime, and instead, viewing the world and oneself through the contact of love and acceptance. A Program in Wonders emphasizes that true forgiveness contributes to the acceptance that we are all interconnected and that separation from each other can be an illusion.
