The updated Honda Africa Twin can now be booked at all Honda Wing World dealerships across India.
Only 50 units of the bike are up for booking currently, each carrying a price tag of ₹13.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
For the 2018 model year, the Honda Africa Twin now gains Throttle-by-wire technology that gives the rider the ability to manage engine output as well as traction at the rear wheel.
Furthermore, it gets an update to the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), which offers seven levels as compared to three levels of the outgoing model.
Powering the 2018 Africa Twin is the familiar 999cc parallel-twin motor that’s good for producing 88bhp of max power and 93.1Nm of peak torque.
The company had only got a limited number of units which were sold out rather quickly.
Bookings for the 2018 iteration is likely to commence in a few weeks’ time and the bike is expected to be launched in July.
From just 3 levels of HSTC, the 2018 Africa Twin will now have 7 levels including the ability to switch the function off.
In combination with a redesigned exhaust, this gives the motorcycle a stronger mid-range – something that should come in handy while off-roading.
By fitting the Africa Twin with a Lithium-ion battery, Honda has managed to increase its durability and at the same time reduce weight by more than 2 kilograms.
While the overall design remains more or less identical, the 2018 Africa Twin gets wider footpegs for better support along with wider heel plates.

Honda must follow the steps and must launch CB150R in India to take on the empty segment which is currently ruled by KTM 125 Duke.
The powerplant is mated to a sleek shifting 6-speed gearbox.
A 296 mm disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear does the stopping while the front 17-inch rim is slapped with 110/60 section rubber and a 150/60 section tire is at the rear.
CB300R has a 296 mm wave-type disc with a four-piston caliper at the front and 220 mm disc with a single-pot caliper at the rear.
Safe braking is ensured by a dual-channel ABS system with anti-skid technology.
