NMAT 2018 Exam Pattern- NMAT is a national level entrance
examination offering applications for Postgraduate programs like MBA and
other PGDM courses. GMAC (Graduation Management Admission Council)
conducts the examination every year. The candidates who are willing to
take the examination must be familiar with the exam pattern and they can
study strategically. The examination will be divided into different sections.


The NAT by GMAC window will start from 4 October 2018 and will
continue till 14 December 2018. It will be a computer-based test and will

NMAT 2018 Syllabus


Logical reasoning


This section includes all the basic reasoning like seat arrangements, blood
relations, seat arrangements, directions etc. There is no as such book
recommended by the experts. The candidates are advised to solve previous
years question papers and sample papers.


Language skills


This section will test the candidate’s command over the English language. It
will have questions like jumbled sentences, jumbled paragraphs and
grammar problems. For this particular section, the candidates are advised
to read articles for good content. Experts recommend reading content fro
The Hindu, The mint etc.


Quantitative ability/skills


This section will include all the basic all the mathematical concepts like
algebra, permutations combinations, arithmetic, trigonometry etc. The
candidates with math background have an advantage as they have already

studied the concepts in graduation. NMAT 2018 application form the candidates are advised to practice
as any sample and question papers as they can as it time taking the section.
The candidates are advised to conduct mock tests as it will help to be
familiar with the strength and weakness. It will help the candidates to
increase their problem- solving speed.

The main highlights of the exam pattern are discussed below
- Duration- The duration of the examination will be 2 hours i.e. 120
minutes.
- Mode of the exam- The examination will be conducted in online mode
i.e. it will be a computer-based test.
- Marking scheme- one mark will be awarded for each correct response.
The good news for the candidates is that there will not be any negative
marking in the examination. Even there will not be deductions for
unattempted questions.


Key points for the examination

- No candidate will be allowed inside the examination hall without a
valid copy NMAT 2018 Admit card and one valid ID proof.
- No extra time will be given to the candidates to complete the
examination so the candidates are advised to reach the examination
venue early at least 30 mins before the commencement of the
examination.
- The syllabus of the examination may or may be changed. NMAT will
throw some surprises every year. So the candidates are advised to
start preparing as soon as possible.
- According to previous year’s data, the quantitative ability section has
the highest weight. The candidates are advised to focus more on
this particular section.


Around 50,000 candidates appear for the examination every year but
NMIMS offers limited seats. The numbers are expected to be increased
this year as the competition is getting tougher every year. The
examination will be conducted in online mode i.e. it will be a
computer-based test. The duration of the examination will be 2 hours.

form along with the payment of the application can download the
NMAT 2018 Admit card from the official website of the conducting
body.
