We took everything into account during our research, from the value of each plan to the amount of data parceled out each month to help you get the absolute best bang for your buck. One tip that's important to note is that Verizon charges an extra $15 per gigabyte once you've gone past your data limit, so it may be worth upping to a comfortable data tier rather than being eaten up by overage charges.Beware though - if you're a YouTube addict or you like to stream Netflix on the go, 3GB won't last long.Nevertheless, 6 additional gigabytes for only $20 more than the large plan is a steal for anyone expecting to use a chunk of data each month and this offers great value if you're going to split the allowance across two, three or even four lines. For only $100, 18GB is a surprisingly substantial load of data at your disposal. This is almost certainly overkill for single users though, unless you really are a super-heavy data user.
We ve gotten our second taste of what the latest installment of the reimagined Star Trek universe looks like, and we ve got to say that the movie looks like it s going to boldly go where no Star Trek has gone before pardon the pun .The Enterprise was boarded after a fierce battle with the Klingons, and rather than lose the ship, Kirk and Spock set off the auto destruct sequence. In just two installments, we ve seen the Vulcans destroyed, the near annihilation of 23rd Century London, and Starfleet Command nearly brought down to its knees. Our cast of characters also seem to have changed: Chris Pine s Kirk is a man often uncomfortable in command, while Zachary Quinto s Spock is a Vulcan less in control of his emotions.Unfortunately, it still does not answer any questions as to who Elba s character really is and where he comes from; it doesn t even answer questions as to what this movie s plot is in the first place.Star Trek Beyond hits theaters on July 22.
CBS and Paramount confirmed Abrams' comment to Buzzfeed reporter Adam Vary after the event.Vary also reported that Alec Peters, Axanar's executive producer who was in the audience on Friday night, was unaware that the two studios were intending to drop the suit against his company until he heard Abrams' story that evening.CBS and Paramount filed the lawsuit against Axanar Productions and its executive producer, Alec Peters, in December.Although the two companies have encouraged fan fiction in the past, the Axanar project intended to make a professional-looking Star Trek feature film, even hiring people who had worked on canon Star Trek installments before, and CBS and Paramount took umbrage with that plan.In March, lawyers for CBS and Paramount detailed many of the specific instances in which Axanar Productions had allegedly infringed on the studios' copyrighted works during a 20-minute prequel called Prelude to Axanar. In a blog post published on Sunday, Peters wrote on behalf of Axanar Productions: It was a great moment for Axanar and we are very grateful to both JJ and Justin Lin.
AT is making its phone financing plans a little easier to understand, reducing the number of plans from four to two.AT has been criticized for its confusing plans — the Next 24 plan, for example, actually lasts 30 months. The new plans eliminate the ability of customers to pay in fewer installments, but they should help clear up some confusion. The way that the two plans work is pretty simple — the Next plan is basically a renamed version of the old Next 24 plan, allowing customers to pay for their device over 30 months in equal payments. On Next you ll also be able to get a new phone after 24 months.According to AT, a $750 phone such as the 16GB iPhone 6S Plus will cost $25 per month on the Next plan, and $31.25 per month in the Next Every Year plan.
MoreThis image released by Electronic Arts shows the new diverse characters that will be available on "The Sims 4" the latest edition of "The Sims" video game. The studio said in a statement it wanted to "make sure players can create characters they can identify with or relate to through powerful tools that give them influence over a Sims' gender, age, ethnicity, body type and more."While previous editions of "The Sims" have featured character customization restrictions based on gender, users have unofficially modified the PC game over the years to remove such barriers."The Sims 4" executive producer Rachel Franklin said in an email to The Associated Press that the developers have been working for over a year on the update. She said Maxis worked with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocacy group GLAAD on the update, including following a suggestion to remove gender symbols associated with characters in the game's gallery."It was a pleasure working with developers who were committed to updating the game so that all players can create a Sims world that more accurately reflects the world in which we live today."
The new phone is a fortified version of the flagship Galaxy S7, and as in years past, is only available from ATSamsung s new Galaxy S7 Active is a toughened-up version of the flagship Galaxy S7 that won t fail if dropped on the ground or in water. It also has a fingerprint reader, and support for Samsung Pay.AT Next also provides options to upgrade the handset at certain intervals. It withstood a six-and-a-half foot two-meter drop to a concrete floor, and there wasn t a scratch on the screen. It survived unscathed after I dropped it into a vertical, glass-encased, five-foot obstacle course that Samsung set up for demo purposes, featuring steel bars that the phone smashed into on the way down.It is 9.9-millimeters thick, and slightly longer on the top and bottom, all of which adds to the durability of the handset.

Microsoft s Surface Book is a great laptop, but it s also very expensive.Prices range as low as $33 installments over a period of 30 months for the lowest end Surface 3, to as much as $220 a month for the 16GB RAM, 1 TB storage Surface Book over 18 months. That laptop normally costs $3200, so you ll be paying several hundred dollars more over the course of the lease. There are some perks though, including accidental damage coverage, hardware and software discounts, and one-on-one training sessions – not to mention the ability to upgrade to the next Surface whenever that comes out.Microsoft s clearly aiming the membership at businesses who need to order several laptops, but we wouldn t be surprised to see some consumers sign up as well; Apple introduced the iPhone Upgrade Program last year for a reason.Laptops and tablets may not inspire quite the same upgradeitis that cellphones do, but we wouldn t be surprised to see these type of subscriptions pop up more often.
Perhaps emboldened by the success of Hitman GO and Lara Croft GO, the game publisher is giving the same treatment to another major title: Deus Ex.Capitalizing on the upcoming launch of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Deus Ex GO will cater to mobile gamers who might not have that much time or resources for a full on Deus Ex game but still want to be immersed in the fictional cyberpunk universe of the game.Although the earlier installments of the game does allow for more violent gameplay, the game itself is open to many ways of solving a problem, some of which don't involve going on a killing spree.Visually speaking, Deus Ex GO differentiates itself from both other GO games as well as the main Deus Ex titles, particularly Mankind Divided.Paths that branch out like circuit lines, triangles, and hexagons all give the game a futuristic, cyberpunk atmosphere. There is no hard date yet for the launch of Deus Ex GO aside from a Summer target.
There is an oft quoted or misquoted line about how life imitates art more than the other way around.Three different but connected companies, however, are going to team up and bring their unique specializations together to make life indeed imitate art.In this case, that means bringing the robotic, augmented limbs depicted in the Deus Ex game franchise to reality.Which may or may not be a smart idea, depending on which side of the transhumanism debate you stand on.The very first Deus Ex game was hailed for how it defied established tropes and stereotypes common in many first-person games of that period, allowing players to choose non-violent ways to resolve problems and giving birth to what would later be labelled as "emergent gameplay".It would allow them to immediately see how the new body part would look like as if they were already attached.

War has moved into the solar system.Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set in space, after Earth expands into the solar system.Video game publisher Activision showed off more of the gameplay in zero gravity today at the Sony press event, a lead-in to the Electronic Entertainment Expo trade show this week in Los Angeles. The demo started with a space pilot on a base.He takes off in a twin-seat space fighter and takes off into space, where he finds a gigantic space battle going on.All the while, he takes out enemies with precision. He uses homing grenades and other high-tech weapons to dispatch the space-suited defenders. But Activision is being careful in describing the game as a military shooter at heart, not a sci-fi game.On top of that, Activision is launching a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the Infinity Ward title that debuted back in 2007.These announcements should go over well with the community of 40 million monthly active users excited about the next installments in the annual franchise, which has generated more than $15 billion over the past decade.Infinity Ward will have had about three years to work on the game by the time it ships, as owner Activision now has three studios working on the game — including Sledgehammer Games maker of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Treyarch creator of last year s Call of Duty: Black Ops III .

Most notably, the recently revealed iOS 10 is jam-packed with a number of features that Apple didn t have time to cover.Earlier today, we got you up to speed on a few of these interesting features, and now we ll cover yet another one that flew past our radar initially. This feature is especially useful given that Apple is still selling devices with 16GB of storage out of the box.As evidenced via the photo below, courtesy of MacRumors, iOS 10 users will be able to instruct their iPhone to remove music in either 4GB, 8GB or 16GB installments.Of course, this feature would only come in handy if a user happens to keep a sizable music library on his or her device. And with the growing popularity of music streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify, it s safe to assume that the percentage of users who rely upon their devices for local music storage is on the way down.

ZOMBIESThere was no lack of games featuring either undead or mechanized beings at E3."Dead Rising 4," ''Days Gone" and "State of Decay 2" were just a few of the titles tasking players with mowing down brain-hungry hordes, while "ReCore," ''Horizon Zero Dawn" and "Detroit: Become Human" all feature assembly lines of super-smart bots. The singular focus was successful, if a mind-boggling line of sweaty gamers — some waiting up to three hours — was any indication.

In a market as competitive as smartphones, you can bet that every once in a while a company is going to come around and shake things up.What's making these customers eager isn't the phone's list of specifications or some form of brand loyalty, but rather the handset's price - coming in at Rs 251, this phone is sporting a price tag that's a whopping $3.70.There were no misplaced decimals in that figure, as Ringing Bells is indeed rolling out a smartphone that costs less than $4.We also need to consider that this phone is launching in India, which is one of the largest smartphone markets in the world.American and European consumers might go crazy for the latest and greatest, but it's going to be increasingly difficult to ignore two of the largest smartphone markets, which often seem willing to sacrifice flair and power for utility and value.Ringing Bells is certainly betting on it, as it expects to sell 200,000 units each month from here on out.
Motorola's Moto G line has proven to be quite popular with consumers over the past few years. It isn't really all that surprising, considering that Motorola found a way to offer a decent, desirable phone at a price that won't set you back hundreds upon hundreds of dollars if you're one of the many who like to purchase their phones outright.Today the company dished pricing and release details for the newest Moto G phones, and it appears the next generation in the lineup is right around the corner. While the "Plus" in its name seems to suggest otherwise, the Moto G4 Plus actually isn't any larger than its less expensive counterpart, as both are sporting a 5.5-inch display with the same 1080p resolution. They're also both universally unlocked, meaning they'll work on any carrier in the US, regardless of whether they're CDMA or GSM.Are you planning on picking up the Moto G4 when it launches next month?
