But the intensity may vary from person to person. If you face issues in managing Stress or have trouble with stress control, some of the following tips might come in handy.

Sometimes Stress is nothing more than the body’s physiological reaction to deal with challenging circumstances. For example, during a stressful encounter, adrenaline and cortisol (also known as stress hormones) are released in the blood, leading to a surge in sugar levels and blood pressure.

Stress can also come in the form of bad food and poor or inadequate sleep.

With the unprecedented spread of Covid-19 worldwide, Stress and anxiety have increased among the masses and managing Stress has become even more crucial.Symptoms and managementToo much stress can affect mental and physical health, particularly if it becomes chronic (ongoing) or overwhelming.

Stress can affect your body, your thoughts and feelings, and your behavior. In all its many forms, Stress leads to inflammation, and inflammation actually kills the brain cells that help us make good decisions, making those brain cells in the fight or flight part of the brain grow. This leads to anger and opposition and supports negative behavior and decision-making.Chronic and severe stress can increase the risk of developing depression, anxiety, substance abuse, or a range of other mental disorders and is associated with symptoms such as headaches, crankiness, insomnia, and trouble relaxing.

However, short-term and/or mild stressors can have the exact opposite effect.

Ideally, it can also be a time for a woman to focus on herself and what she wants to do and achieve in the years to come.If you’re unsure about what to expect from your body during this phase of your life it can be a confusing and distressing time.To get a clearer understanding of the change your body is going through let’s discuss some of the basics of menopause.

Women are born with eggs in their ovaries, which are released every month as part of the menstrual cycle.

The ovaries ultimately stop producing these hormones completely during menopause although fat cells (mainly belly fat) and the adrenal glands still produce a small amount of oestrogen.

Well, science is starting to shed more light on the subject as it seems that our gut bacteria are different as well.Scientists have only recently begun to appreciate the vital role played by the human microbiome, which consists of all the bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites that live in or on a person’s body.

The gut microbiome alone is home to approximately 100 trillion microorganisms made up of hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of different species of microbes, each varying in abundance. The delicate balance maintained by the trillions of microorganisms influences so many aspects of our health.

Unfortunately, when that delicately orchestrated ecosystem inside our gut loses its state of harmony — as so frequently happens in our modern world — it can have serious consequences.Current research is focusing on learning the connection between gut bacteria and various health conditions.

The goal is to learn how to use the new understanding of different strains to develop strategies to help people recover from health conditions.

Inflammatory conditions including IBS, colitis as well as diabetes, heart disease and depression are just a few conditions that can benefit from healthy gut flora. One key area of focus is looking at diet to help manipulate the gut microbes to help these conditions.

Normally research looks at each of these individually but this is no longer sufficient. In looking at the mice studies, it was found that for the most part, the gut microbiomes of both sexes of mice responded to diet in the same manner.

Starting your day off right can have a snowball effect on the rest of your day.

The tone of your morning will determine the tone of your day, so it’s time to start planning accordingly.

Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier One of the main reasons why many of us fall victim to messy and muddled mornings is because we don’t leave ourselves enough time to get things done. It’s easy to say that you’re going to wake up early in the morning and finish a few tasks, but once the morning rolls around and the alarm is going off, we often find ourselves reaching for the snooze button. It can be difficult to change this habit, but try to make it a goal to wake up as soon as the alarm goes off and set your day off right.

Practise mindfulness or meditationDuring the day, our minds remain busy and occupied with a number of different issues that need our attention. In this context, it is best to take a few moments out of your morning schedule for yourself and try to calm your mind down.Through the practice of mindfulness, you will learn how to examine, tolerate and digest your stress and distress in an ongoing way.

Move your bodyExercise is a great way to start your day.

Fifteen minutes might not seem long enough to dramatically impact your fitness levels, but you’d be surprised by the benefits even a short walk can bring.A 2017 study found that morning exercise was more effective at controlling how much you eat throughout the day.According to the National Sleep Foundation.

But these enzymes do not digest food – they digest nutrients.Digestive enzymes are responsible for breaking down the food you eat to extract nutrients which are then converted to:Amino acids from proteinsFatty acids and cholesterol from fatsSimple and complex sugars from carbohydratesAnd other vitamins, minerals and compounds. This process is by no means a simple input-output system.

Digestive enzymes affect factors in your daily life that are not often considered such as your:NutritionYou can eat all the healthy food in the world, but if you can’t absorb it, not even the healthiest of diets will do you any good.

However, if a diet doesn’t include this pairing of essential enzymes, or if the body is unable to produce enough enzymes to promote healthy digestion and diverse microbial life, you run the risk of symptoms such as:BloatingIndigestionConstipationThyroid issuesLackluster hair, skin, and nailsMood swingsAnd depressionThis is why maintaining a healthy diet is imperative to support the intricate process of enzyme production.Immune System SupportStudies have shown that the autoimmune system, which protects us from pathogens and harmful toxins in the environment, may owe its efficiency to digestive enzymes. As humans have evolved, enzyme production has followed suit with microbial gut flora producing various enzymes to respond to different pathological and environmental threats.

Though enzymes are not solely responsible for the aging process, they play a large role in how nutrients reach the areas that need them in all stages of life.Enzymes and Chronic StressYour enzymes could be telling you to slow down.

As obesity levels skyrocket, it is easy to see how a simple change like sitting down for meals and eating mindfully could provide a fulfilling way to destress and allow our enzymes to provide our bodies with much needed nutrients.Things you can do to increase production of your digestive enzymes:  Chew your food thoroughly.

Chewing also produces more saliva which is a rich source of enzymes.Drink water first thing in the morning.

Does the thought of hypnosis bring to mind an image of a well-dressed gentleman moving a pocket timepiece back and forth to encourage an audience member to bark like a dog when he claps his hands? You’re not alone in that.

Many people quit alcohol and have no difficulty setting a threshold to how much they drink and how frequently.

Yet, for some, alcohol is a substance that can harm their well-being and lives. As the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism explains, “throughout history, we’ve struggled to understand and manage alcohol’s power.” Hypnotherapy, or hypnosis in therapy, can help bring about a major change for some people. What is Hypnotherapy?

Most scientists suggest this occurs because we can converge on something without allowing our fears, worries, and qualms to interfere with our focus For example when we watch a movie we focus on the plot and our qualms and uncertainties fade away.A similar thing occurs when we’re in a hypnotic state, but instead of concentrating on a movie plot, we are highlighting ourselves.Hypnotherapy for the treatment of alcoholism.Hypnotherapy is not yet a recognized technique for alcohol abuse therapy, but it may be used as a different treatment technique to aid in the recovery procedure alongside techniques like dialectic behavioral rehabilitation that are evidence-based.

These programs typically include the use of evidence-based sense modalities, such as behavioraltherapy or medication.

Hypnotherapy is a newer alternative means of treatment that is growing in admiration.Researchers backing the use of Hypnotherapy for alcohol addiction treatment claim that it can benefit the participant to comprehend why their actions qualify as abuse and not purely as use.

Isn’t it amazing to even consider the possibility?

The concept is that the mind can be suggested to change practices like overeating.

According to many practitioners, hypnosis can help people focus on their subconscious mind and avoid repeating patterns that are no longer serving them.Hypnosis is a delicate practice, one that lays the foundation for long-lasting change and an increased sense of well-being.

These days obesity is the leading cause of numerous diseases and tackling obesity with the help of hypnosis to aid in weight loss is not pristine.

As the advancement in science has flourished, controlled trials have been conducted inspecting the use of hypnotherapy for weight loss in overweight individuals One study observed two specific systems of hypnotherapy versus simple diet advice for weight loss and sleep apnea.

Once the therapist has built a rapport with you and a sense of trust has been established between you, you will be guided into a hypnotic trance state so that you become accepting of suggestions around your eating and weight control behaviors.Your therapist may also assist you to envisage yourself accomplishing the goals through imparting vivid mental images. Some additional tips to use as an adjunct to your weight loss hypnotherapy sessions: Eat protein, healthy fats, and fiber at each meal.

It can be a result of something irritating, deceitful or sad.

However, when anger becomes difficult to manage, it might be best to ask for help.

This article will guide you as to how you can manage your anger using hypnotherapy. But first, let’s understand……What is anger and when does it become problematic? Our body deals with stressful situations and feelings of anger by initiating a ‘fight or flight’ response.

In other words, the rush of adrenaline and cortisol in the blood makes the body feel tense and get ready to fight or flee from a triggering situation. However, the problem begins when the option to fight or flee from the triggering situation is not possible or fails to work resulting in an uncontrolled anger response.Sometimes the inability to express one’s anger or bottling it up can develop into anger management issues.

Additionally, struggling to manage anger in the long term can severely impact a person’s physical and mental well-being.

Anger management through hypnosis focuses on finding the trigger or the root cause of the anger and then working on changing the unwanted behavior patterns.Past experiences shape who we become.

A feeling that overshadows your whole being.Dealing with the grief caused by a traumatic event can feel paralysing as things that happened in our past can have a huge impact on our mental wellbeing.

While there are numerous treatment options for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy, they don’t appeal to everyone.Hypnotherapy can be a great treatment option for those living with the symptoms of PTSD as well as symptoms of other anxiety disorders. In this article, we will put some light on PTSD and the use of hypnotherapy for PTSD.

What is PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)?Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that’s triggered by a terrifying event — either experiencing it or witnessing it.An accumulation of stress almost always builds up and leads to symptoms like nightmares, sweating, feeling on edge and extreme anxiety. You may feel as though you have no control over how your body and mind react to post-traumatic triggers.

It’s like they show up without warning, releasing distressing past experiences we might no longer be aware of.PTSD frequently goes undiagnosed by the medical profession and even in the psychological community.Signs of PTSD:Unwanted memories of the traumatic eventNegative thinking and mood swingsEmotions of hopelessnessPanic attacksTrouble maintaining close relationshipsSleep troublesIrritability or aggressive behaviourHypervigilanceSuicidal ideation or action Hypnotherapy: A remedy for PTSD!Hypnotherapy for PTSD is an evidence-based cure and can meritoriously treat the signs as well as the fundamental causes.

In addition, hypnotherapy offers controlled access to memories that may otherwise be kept out of realization. Some of the ways that hypnotherapy is effectively used in the treatment of PTSD is by:Reprogramming of traumatic memories and negative experiencesRemoval of the triggers that set off anxiety and panicReprogramming your response to triggering thoughts and situations that may have held you back for years.Helping to strengthen the memories into a more organized storage system in the subconscious mind so that the memories become less disturbing.

Results of several studies on hypnotherapy for PTSD:A 2001 report detailed the successful treatment of a British war veteran who had undergone severe PTSD symptoms for over 40 years.

Too much or too little of any one ingredient affects the final product.

Some of the symptoms hormonal imbalances could cause are:persistent weight gainmood swingsfatigueconstipation or more frequent bowel movementsdepressiondecreased sex drivenervousness, anxiety or irritabilitymuscle aches, tenderness and stiffness When we are trying to keep our hormones balanced three key areas need support:the liver, which helps us make and regulate many hormones plus detox out excess hormonesthe adrenal glands, which also make many hormones, even some reproductive hormonesthe gut, which can affect every area in the body Let’s take a look at some of the causes of hormonal imbalances: Chronic StressStress is the number one driver of hormonal imbalances.

It is also responsible for causing a host of imbalanced hormonal symptoms such as anxiety, mood swings, polycystic ovaries, infertility, acne and more.So that means no sugary desserts, simple carbs, sugary drinks or excessive alcohol.

Lack of SleepWe all want to have a good night’s sleep, but too often we worry too much, work too many hours and live in a home environment that causes our sleep to be disturbed.

If you don’t feel refreshed when you wake up, you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep, or you find yourself awake more than once through the night, then you are not allowing your body to rest and repair as it needs to.

Other endocrine disruptors interfere with thyroid function, liver function, adrenal function and even our gut health.Considering that your skin is your body’s largest organ and acts like a sponge, imagine how much toxin it is absorbing daily.

Have you ever seen anyone having mild anxiety or panic attacks during stressful situations?

It can trigger panic attacks, crippling fear for no apparent reason, and even lead to depression. One of its symptoms is insomnia, which has resulted in plenty of sufferers turning to hypnosis to help them sleep more soundly at night.

A recent study showed that hypnosis could be an effective anxiety disorder treatment by assisting patients in identifying the roots of their problems and changing those beliefs through hypnosis.Hypnosis is a delicate practice that lays the foundation for long-lasting change and an increased sense of well-being.

Hypnosis is a state of awareness involving focused concentration, reduced peripheral awareness, and an enhanced capacity to respond to suggestions. The mere idea of hypnosis might make some people feel anxious before treatment, but Hypnotherapy sessions are safe, effective, and recommended by professionals worldwide.

That, combined with its ease of use and relative affordability, makes it an excellent choice for those who suffer from anxiety or any other problems related to it.

Hypnosis allows the therapist to communicate directly with the subconscious mind and embed new suggestions.

It can last between 1-10 years and during these years the majority of menopause symptoms may occur such as hot flushes/flashes, irregular periods, decreased libido, mood swings, fatigue, sleeping issues and more.Once a woman has not menstruated for 12 months she is considered to be in menopause and she is no longer fertile as her ovaries have run out of eggs.

As a result, her risk for health conditions like osteoporosis and heart disease are about to go up.That might sound scary, but by making some changes to her eating habits she might be able to ease a lot of the discomfort and keep her body healthier as she ages, says Sherry Ross, MD, an ob-gyn at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California.Let’s discuss some foods you can eat during your perimenopause years to help smooth out the symptoms.Eat more calciumThe official word from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is that your calcium needs increase to 1,200 mg per day (from 1,000 mg) starting at age 50.

But don’t wait until 50 to focus on this important mineral: As soon as you enter perimenopause your oestrogen levels start declining and as that happens your bones have a harder time retaining calcium.

That puts you at risk for thinning bones, AKA osteopenia or osteoporosis, which can later lead to debilitating fractures.Fortunately, calcium is pretty easy to consume: eat salmon or sardines which contain bones rich in calcium; include kale, broccoli, bok choy, silverbeet, cucumber, celery and chickpeas in your regular diet; eat more almonds, dried figs and dried apricots.·       Include protein at every mealAccording to the CSIRO, from the age of 40 onwards, skeletal muscle mass decreases between 3-8% every decade.

Omega-3 fats are found in fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, sardines and anchovies), organ meats, eggs, leafy greens, flaxseeds, nuts and seeds.

Go for broccoli, red, yellow and green capsicum, dark leafy green vegetables and tomatoes.Every day the list of benefits from the natural antioxidants found in pigment-rich foods grows.

Their benefits were ignored and they were treated like high-calorie junk food that would blow up your waistlines. The food industry was only too happy to jump on the bandwagon, pumping out an avalanche of sugar-laden, fat-free junk foods marketed as healthy.Today we know that the Western World’s government’s dietary recommendations were wrong in many ways.

But its advice to cut back on nuts and seeds due to their fat and calorie content will likely be remembered as some of the worst dietary advice ever received.Nuts and seeds are a good source of healthy, anti-inflammatory polyunsaturated fats, minerals, antioxidants, proteins and fibre.

Which supports them having many benefits for your health. Here are 5 big reasons to make nuts and seeds a key part of your nutrition. They keep your heart healthyIn February 2013, one of the largest dietary clinical trials ever published showed that eating fat could protect you from heart attacks and strokes.

By making the participants add nuts and olive oil to their diets. In the trial, those who ate nuts every day reduced their risk of heart attack by 30%.

Eating nuts slashed the risk of a heart attack as much as taking a particular medication for heart disease but without any of the side effects.

The amount of sugar in the shortbread biscuit will raise your triglycerides, lower your good cholesterol, and increase your stress hormones.

How many times have you attempted to incorporate a new habit into your life, you’ve repeated it for multiple days but it just hasn’t stuck?

Seeing statistics, seeing data won’t necessarily change somebody’s behaviour in the long term.As many of my clients have recently been asking for help to change their habits and instil new healthy habits into their life, I thought I would share some of BJ Fogg’s method (Tiny Habits) with you which will hopefully enable you to incorporate new habits into your life sustainably.

The three areas that need to work together are:Motivation, Ability and PromptMotivation:Difficult behaviours require a high level of motivation.

Applying a big or go home attitude to everything you do is a recipe for self-criticism and disappointment.Doing big things can be painful.

Prompt:In the Tiny Habits method, you pick an existing routine to remind you to do the new tiny behaviour.

So essentially this action acts as a trigger for you to practise your new behaviour.Ask yourself: Where does this new tiny behaviour fit naturally in my life? What routine does it come after? This concept of “after” is important.

Even though at first glance they appear similar, there are noteworthy differences between them.

In this article, we take a closer look at hypnosis and meditation and inspect their disparities. What is hypnosis?According to the American Psychological Association, hypnosis is two-way communication between a responsive participant and a suggestive hypnotist.

Notwithstanding its image in contemporary media, hypnosis offers medical and therapeutic benefits and is particularly effective in treating trauma, addictions, phobias, anxiety, pain, and more.Deep hypnosis is frequently depicted as a state of relaxation similar to how we feel just before we doze off to sleep.

Throughout a standard hypnosis session, you take on the suggestions given to you by the Hypnotherapist as though they were your own.

Your subconscious mind is merely imagining it to be true. The hypnotic state is a trance state portrayed by relaxation and a lack of inhibitions.

For example, when we watch a movie, we appreciate and focus on the plot, and our qualms and doubts fade away.

Though enzymes are not solely responsible for the aging process, they play a large role in how nutrients reach the areas that need them in all stages of life.Enzymes and Chronic StressYour enzymes could be telling you to slow down.
