Surabaya is the center of the Independence Movement of Indonesia, is because of the heroism of the people of Surabaya seen in the battle of 10 November 1945. At first, the view to the city this may not look attractive for the tourists out there. Many tourists who treat Surabaya just as the door leading to the city of beautiful Bali.
However, when I set foot in the City of Heroes, I feel amazed because of the level of urbanization in the city has increased. This is precisely because the use of 21st century technology and activities the development of infrastructure. When you live in city of Heroes you will realize that here has a mixture of population which consists of people native to Indonesia, Islam, Dutch and Chinese. The only issue that ails this city is gridlock. When you walk across the road, you will realize that this city has a unique blend of ancient architecture and modern unite to form a beautiful landscape. The rich culture that exists in this city that has brought me here the first time.
I visited several botanical gardens that are widely spread above acres and acres of land, Sampoerna Museum, several Mosques, Churches and large market. So if you want to know more about the culture of Indonesia, I would say to you that Surabaya is the city that must be visited. The city consists of a wide selection of luxury accommodations such as the Sheraton and J W Mariott. It will be difficult for those who have a minimal budget to find accommodation here because of some of the luxury hotels 7 stars who appeared there almost on every street. Room type deluxe can spend you around the Rp 545.000,-. Living in this city will make holes in my pockets due to the expensive accommodation and I decided to organize a short tour to the city in one full day and more memilihh to get to my next destination that depart in the middle of the night.
I had booked my bus ticket from the site redbus.id when I just arrived in Surabaya in the morning so that I can immediately go left Surabaya at midnight as I had planned earlier in the list of plan my holiday. I never go to Yogyakarta where there still is a city that is relatively small and still in development. This does not attract many tourists who travel to Yogyakarta and at that time there were only 2 bus Operator that serve this route. Up to now only the second operator this course on a website. The distance between the 2 cities is about 11 hours but I find the buses are quite cheap and affordable price Rp 90.000,- very worth the travel time long. Bus Operator Eka has about 8 buses that travel from City of Heroes Surabaya to the City of Yogyakarta which begins at 08.30 in the morning and the frequency of the bus there every 3 hours. So if you are travelling with this Operator you can choose a convenient time i.e. between 20.30 and 22.30 night. Because I was in inter-city trips are short, I decided to book a Bus at 22.30 tonight so I can get enough time to tour to all parts of the city of Surabaya and then to Yogyakarta. Rinjani is the operator of luxury undergo the route in between the two cities. For those looking for luxury, Rinjani is one of the best Carriers because I never traveled with them on some time ago. However, they only have 2 buses that depart, the first at 19.00 the night and the other at 21.00 the night. The ticket is offered for a slightly higher price and this is quite clear because this Operator offers a variety of luxury amenities in the Bus.
