Today we are going to break some of the top trends for e-commerce in 2019, discuss what we believe the most influential changes in the coming years, and dissect why were these changes

Emerging markets such as India, China, Brazil, Russia and South Africa are expected to play a major role in the future of e-commerce.

This is perhaps not surprising, given the recent growth of some of the economies of these countries, but let's look a little deeper.

It is estimated that about 3 billion potential buyers from emerging markets will have access to the Internet by 2022. That's a lot of potential customers.

It is also expected that 20 percent of all retail sales will come from buyers who are currently in the emerging markets in 2022. That's a lot of potential sales.

The most exciting part about all this is that many of these markets are relatively untapped by existing e-commerce companies at present.

This means that there are a ton of possibilities for existing companies to branch out and reach new audiences.

It also means there are many opportunities for new e-commerce brands to emerge in emerging markets, and tailor their services towards the local audience.

We can not talk about the future of e-commerce without mentioning the growing physical versus online debate.

Generally, people invade the e-commerce industry in one of the two camps in this debate.

There are people who believe that it is only a matter of time before brick-and-mortar stores disappear in favor of an even greater shift to online shopping.

And there are people that physical stores to see the introduction of a renaissance.

The future of e-commerce will undoubtedly full of exciting changes and innovations for companies and buyers.
