Twitter has finally updated its system against hate speeches and remarks that indicates racism, disability, and disease. The dehumanizing remarks that are posted out on Twitter nowadays tend to spread negativity. The changes will be updated in the twitter policies after July, the Twitter officials have proclaimed the news.
It is not the first time that Twitter has adopted measures against dehumanizing speeches; in 2018, they issued a broad ban that restricted users to post hateful Tweets in reference to gender and race. Since then, they haven’t look forward to increasing this attribute, and now after several feedbacks from the users, they are finally onto cover all the major issues regarding dehumanizing remarks.
The new policy of Twitter stated that they would automatically ban all the hateful tweets as soon as they get posted. There is no way to post any dehumanizing tweet after July said the officials of Twitter. Although the tweet will be banned immediately after getting into the radar of the newly updated system, it won’t result in blocking of the account.
There are enormous reasons behind the subsequent decision of Twitter as globally. Twitter is considered as one of the best media to share your own thoughts. However, various negative figures use it to spread negativity and hatred across the world. Twitter officials are aware of this fact for quite a long, so they decided to update a policy against it. Thus, they have launched it for the first time in 2018 and asked for feedback from its users to know what more can be added to it. The result leads to more than 8,000 useful feedbacks obtained by them in just two weeks. From all over the world, there are more than 30 countries that took part in this initiative of Twitter and provided aid to them. So, finally, Twitter gets to know what the severe methods are related to inflaming or provoking people, and thus, they have come along with the subsequent policy.

Last year, we updated our system against hate speeches that covers mostly religious groups. Now, after obtaining numerous feedbacks from our users, we have also included age, diseases, and disability in our policy. Anyone who will be going to post any racist or dehumanizing post will be restricted instantly.
However, they didn’t do anything regarding account suspension because there are so much feedbacks given to them about it. The Twitter Safety also added that they are continuously researching and analyzing more and more facts regarding Twitter Safety. Thus, several more policies will surely update in the future.
Twitter is one of the only social media attributes that gives us the power to share our views and thinks on any topic. However, the culture of being bias about religion, caste, color, gender, and equality often leads to inflaming that’s the result in riots and hatred.
