How to Restore Crashed Apps on Android Device

Android devices have a feature where users can download and update any apps they want from the Google Play Store. These apps are mostly available for free but some apps also cost some subscription. At times, these apps can be problematic as they refuse to open and crash down. Android users must have faced this issue once at least. Apps can crash due to poor internet connection or maybe because it has not been updated in the longest time. Some apps are also the culprit of crashing down because they may not be built properly. Sometimes your phone’s lack of storage space can also lead the apps to crash down, which can be fixed by clearing the cache data and deleting unimportant things that you don’t need in your device.

However, this problem can be resolved using these hacks:

crashing phone

Reboot Your Device

Sometimes, just restarting the device can fix a lot of problems, especially if your device is old. Old devices had low RAM and storage and fewer features, so this method can probably fix the issue. You may have to restart your device regularly for better functioning. Make sure you are not using multiple apps at a time; it can not only crash the app but will also hang your phone’s system.

App Update

The engineers behind the apps regularly check their app’s feedback and mention solutions to resolve the issue, but if that doesn’t work, they fix the app and bring new updates for the apps to function better. You can update the app as the new update can fix the bugs that the app may have had. To update the app, go to Google Play Store and touch on the three-dot icon at the top of the left corner of the page. Then tap on the ‘My Apps and Games’ and click on ‘Update.’ Once the update is complete, reopen the app to check if it has fixed the issue.

Check your Internet Connection

As mentioned earlier, poor internet connection cannot support the app to open properly. So, make sure that you have a good internet connection before you open the app. Since some apps are coded in a way that they can function appropriately only if you have a stable and good internet connection. If you want to switch the internet connection from Wi-Fi to mobile data or vice-versa, we’d recommend you to do so only after you close the app; otherwise, it can cause the app to crash or freeze.

Clear Cache Data

With time the cache data of all the apps increases and they can burn out your apps by either slowing them down or crashing them completely. Always check how much space cache data is consuming per app. Some apps eat up more space than the rest. To clear the cache data, go to your device’s settings, then go to ‘Apps’ and check each apps cache data consumption and tap on the ‘clear cache data’ button. It will save you some space, and your apps will begin to work as good as new. You can also go for ‘Force Stop,’ but it may lead some apps to misbehave. Clearing the cache data is the safest option here.

Boot in Recovery Mode

You can wipe the cache partition entirely from your device, but this will remove temporary files from your device so take the backup of your important data. Boot your phone in recovery mode, and every android system has its own method on how to do it. So, make sure you know the procedure beforehand. Once you’ve done that, go to the Recovery Mode menu using the volume buttons and select it with your device’s power button. Then click on the ‘Wipe Cache Partition.’ It will be wiped in a few seconds, then select ‘Reboot’ or ‘Reboot System Now.’ Your device and apps will work smoothly after the reboot.
