In conversation with the Machine Maker, Kunal Kanabar spoke about his journey of coming up with a better UV sanitizer named Cure Buddy which provides ease and is expected to give better performance.
Ideal UV Sanitizer
“When I was doing my research, I came across the fact that chemical-based sanitizers can harm people, specifically the ones with allergies,” said Kunal. He was curious to know more, and to see what can be the solution as the current sanitization process might affect some in the long run. He realized that UV technology can be put to use when it comes to killing microorganisms such as viruses. After further reading about the impact of UV, he got to know that it can be used to sanitize things exteriorly and not from the interiors.
Understanding the technology, he skimmed the industry to realize that there are people trying to develop this into a fully functional product. This helped them understand its functionality better, and with a number of testing and trials with different intensities, he concluded with 11-watt power to be sufficient for sanitization using UV. He informed us that they had ICMR guidelines under consideration while designing the UV sanitizer.
For use in a commercial and big industrial complex, they provide a wooden chamber with an automatic timer facility, accessible from the screen so that it eliminates the need for constant light checks. And for domestic purposes, they provide portable UV sanitizer bags, which are mobile and convenient for use. They have made sales till now to a convincible number. Hence, with a researched model they came up with an application-based UV sanitizer.
