A magnitude-5.1 earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early April 7, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The tremor, which happened 118 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos town at 4:08 am, was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 91 kilometres, according to Phivolcs.
OCTA says COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila up by 3% only
COVID-19 cases recorded in the National Capital Region between March 31 and April 6 grew by 3% only, the OCTA Research group said on April 7.
In its latest monitoring report, the group said Metro Manila reported an average of 5,146 new COVID-19 cases between March 31 to April 6, bringing the one-week growth rate to just 3%.
PH’s COVID-19 death toll breaches 14,000, as total cases top 819,000
Over 14,000 people nationwide have lost their lives to COVID-19, the Philippine Department of Health (DOH) reported Wednesday.
The death toll climbed to 14,059 after the DOH confirmed 242 new fatalities, including 133 which were previously classified as recoveries before final validation.
