IPL 2021 Return in September: Here is all you need to know

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended the IPL this year in May due to the spread of Covid-19 among the players. During this time, the authorities have finally announced the completion of the rest of the thirty-one matches of the tournament in September-October.

The much-awaited tournament is all set to resume from September 19, 2021. The rest of the thirty-one matches in this season’s IPL will now take place in a matter of twenty-one days with ten doubleheaders, seven single headers, and four playoffs. It will lead up to another major T20 tournament – T20 World Cup 2021. Read on to know the detailed information about every live match of IPL, as issued by the BCCI.

The renewed season of IPL 2021

The BCCI has planned to resume the IPL matches for this season in September, which would be after the players from Team India come back from their England tour. Since the IPL is being organized in September, it will not be affecting the international scheduling of matches in India. So, India can host the Kiwis before the T20 World Cup, as it was previously planned.

The September window was seen to be perfect because by that time, the England-India series would be done and the foreign players would be ready to take part in the T20 World Cup. Thus, a smaller window was being looked into. In the current situation, the BCCI has also considered decreasing the total number of days to complete IPL by keeping more double-headers in one day. The organizers have made way for the playoff round, along with thirty-one league matches.

The new schedule of IPL 2021

The matches that are going to start from September 19 will follow the given schedule. If you are a regular at the online betting sites in India, saving this schedule on your device would be a good idea. Also, it is worth mentioning that all of these matches will take place in Dubai, and the players will be duly tested before they are cleared to play in each of the matches.
