Communication is very important for children, which includes talking, writing, and reading. Communication consists of emotions, eye contact, and body language.

When daycare teachers ask a child about their interests, the teacher's eye contact and gestures will indicate to them that the teacher genuinely wants to know what they have to say.  Their confidence in the teacher's care will help them build good communication relationships with peers and future caregivers or teachers.

Effective communication can also help daycare center's overcome one of the biggest pain points—parent communications.

  • Listen to their concerns:  Your students may be shy or afraid to voice their concerns, so it’s important they feel heard.
  • Regularly check in with them: It can be easy to simply forget to constantly communicate with all the parents you have with your daycare. However, they must stay, children need to play updated on how their child is interacting, developing, and growing while under your care.
  • Keep communications in one place: Apps for childcare are one of the easiest ways to keep parents in the loop and stay organized. Parents can log on, see updates about their child, and message staff-reducing the likelihood of a phone call or feel left out.
