1. Pay attention to portion sizes

Replacing some amount of butter with healthy oil. When modifying a recipe, you can try to replace some of the butter with some vegetable oil that is low in saturated fat, such as canola oil. But be careful, don't replace all the butter with vegetable oil, as it will only change the texture of your cake.
Reduce the sugar you use. To make healthy cakes, you have to cut down on using too much sugar. Try to reduce 25 – 50% of the sugar in the recipe. If the recipe states that the sugar needed is 4 tablespoons, you should use only 2 - 3 tablespoons of sugar. This will greatly help reduce the calories in your healthy cake.
