Let's Peek into The Yoga Culture in Malaysia - Sakthi School Of Yoga

The popularity of yoga has no limits. Why shouldn't? Yoga is so giving like Mother Earth. It can reconstruct every cell of the human body. That's how powerful it is!

However, in this blog, we will not talk about yoga in general but yoga culture in Malaysia.

Organic Life KL surveyed yoga trends in Malaysia and came up with mind-boggling results. The penetration rate of Malaysian Yoga composes of 12% of the total population. According to the survey results, one in every seven Malaysians intends to practice yoga within the next year, with 52 percent belonging to the ethnic Malay group. Modern Yoga is the most popular among current yoga practitioners, with Hatha Yoga being the most popular type of modern yoga. The main reason for practicing yoga is for the physical benefits, such as improved health and fitness, rather than the mental advantages.

Let's have a look at the types of yoga practices in Malaysia!

1) Kids Hatha Yoga: Kids Hatha Yoga in Malaysia is extremely beneficial to children. It improves their versatility, resilience, collaboration, and sensory processing. Since the yoga postures are performed standing, sitting, and lying on the floor, different muscle groups are used, allowing the child to become more aware of his body and its functions. It also aids in the improvement of children's posture. Yoga postures also improve children's balance and motor cooperation.

2) Adult Hatha Yoga: For fully grown, healthy adults who want to expand their capacity, stability, and flexibility to improve with age and deal with common health problems and anxiety. Yoga asana (postures), mindfulness, and breathing bring health and stamina to the body, as well as peace to the mind. Furthermore, Adult Hatha Yoga in Malaysia can help you lower your cortisol levels, which are linked to your sleep cycle. Because low cortisol levels signal to your body that it's time to sleep, practicing yoga before bed can help you fall asleep faster.

3) Ashtanga Yoga: Destined to be a daily practice, this powerful, healing practice consists of a specific sequence of postures (asanas) that connect breath (pranayama) and motion (Vinyasa.) Ashtanga Yoga in Malaysia tends to focus on muscle development and physical strength. Ashtanga yoga revitalizes your body, making it better, shapely, more flexible, and controlled. Many of the poses in the first series are contortion-esque, and many of them require core and arm strength. Your stamina and endurance will gradually improve, and your core muscles will become stronger. Another advantage of Ashtanga is that you can progress at your own pace and level.

4) Pre/Post/Fertility/Pregnancy Yoga: Think of getting a tool that emboldens you during pregnancy, raises you with ridiculously abundant stamina, and aligns your energy with the increasing life from within you. A practice designed exclusively for Fertility, Prenatal, and Post-natal Yoga can help support moms-to-be emotionally and physically.

5) Meditation: If you want to learn the pleasure of inner calm and mindfulness. Participate in the Meditation class. Meditation improves attention and discipline, increases self-awareness and consciousness, reduces stress and anxiety, and fosters generosity. Meditation can also help your physical health by increasing your tolerance for pain and aiding in the fight against substance abuse.

6) Ayurveda: Ayurveda is derived from two Sanskrit words: 'Ayur,' which means 'life,' and 'Veda,' which means science or knowledge.' It translates as "life knowledge." Many scholars consider it to be the oldest healing science. Ayurveda highlights the bar and the preservation of well-being by paying heavy attention to stability in one's life, right reasoning, nutrition, lifestyle, and the use of herbs. For mature, active adults who would like to improve their skill, stability, and flexibility to grow old and cope with common health problems and tension.

Glimpse into the Brief history of Yoga!

Yoga is thought to have been practiced since the beginning of civilization. Yoga science dates back thousands of years, long before the birth of the first cultures or belief systems. Shiva is claimed as the first yogi or Adiyogi, as well as the first Guru of Adi Guru, in yogic lore.

The presence of Yoga in ancient India is suggested by the presence of seals and fossil remains of the Indus Saraswati valley civilization with Yogic motives and figures performing Yoga Sadhana. Tantra Yoga is represented by phallic symbols and seals on mother Goddess idols. Folk traditions, Indus Valley civilization, Vedic and Upanishadic heritage, Buddhist and Jain traditions, Darshanas, epics of Mahabharat and Ramayana, theistic traditions of Shaivas, Vaishnavas, and Tantric traditions all have Yoga in them. Furthermore, there was a primordial or pure Yoga that manifested in South Asian mystical traditions.
