Digital games are great, but more and more kids and adults are actually becoming very addicted to me them.
Here, I will present alternatives in form of analog games, in form of board, card, and roleplaying games. I will present a few of my favorite games and perhaps and a couple of sites worth checking out in the process.

For families, especially with those with 4 or more members, I would recomend 7 wonders. This is a fairly easy game to learn but at the same time holds enough depths to satisfy even the smartest of gamers. The game takes place in the old days, and players will construct wonders like the pyramids, colossus of Rhodos, and the like. They will build statues, libraries, statues, and other status building for cultural points, and will wage war against their neighbors for military score (and give your opponents negative score when they lose the wars), players will also compete for science cards, and trade with each other. To do this they will need resources in the forms of lumber, stone, clay, metal, etc.
The great thing about this game is that while being quite complex it still runs smoothly and can be played in like 20 minutes when every playing gets the hang of it, thanks to everyone playing their cards simultaneously rather than taking their turns. There are also many expansions for 7 wonders.
