Tips to become an expert senior photographer

When it comes to senior portrait photography, the most attractive photographs of senior ladies are those in which the subjects are relaxed and at ease, because this is when their personalities and spirits show most.

When we contacted a professional local photographer, this is what she said about her favorite female postures and suggestions for stunning high school senior girl photographs.

LEANING

Leaning provides a senior female something to do with her body, which helps her relax during the picture session. It's a nice stance to start with if she's anxious when she first arrives for her graduation photos session. By ensuring that they have fantastic texture, color, or perspectives, walls are the ideal spot to lean and create stunning images.

You can test a variety of sitting and standing positions while leaning against a wall, including:

  • Sitting with legs extended out in front of you, one knee lifted, and wrist resting on raised knee.
  • With your back to the wall, one leg bent at the knee and your foot against the wall, stand.
  • With her bottom pressed against the wall and her hands in her pockets, her elbows will automatically push her forward.

  • With her head turned toward you, return to the wall and shot side on.

  • Shoot down the wall, leaning on it with your shoulder.

STANDING

You may want to add some diversity to your senior picture session if your venue provides nothing to rely on. Standing with nothing to lean on, on the other hand, may be difficult for anyone.

Give her something to do with her hands and she'll be fine. Take a variety of frames of each of the following standing girl poses:

  • Hands in pockets
  • Back pockets stuffed with hands
  • One hand was on her hip, the other on her thigh, and one foot was slightly ahead of the other.
  • Wrap one arm over the front of her torso and the other around her elbow.
