Novel Biomarkers in Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases

Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases Highlights

Pain and a consequent reduction in the range of motion or function in one or more areas of the musculoskeletal system are referred to as Rheumatic diseases, in some diseases signs like - swelling, redness, and warmth in the affected areas can be seen. Not externally but these diseases also affect the internal organs of the body. Rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) are chronic systemic diseases, these diseases commonly affect the joints but can harm other orangs of the body.  Rheumatic diseases are the most common cause of reduction in mobility, it has been estimated that approximately 46 million people in the United States live with some  Rheumatic disease, and there are more than 200 RMDs that affect children and adults.

Although the condition rheumatic is the most common medical condition, still in many individuals the symptoms are uncommon from the others. There have been many factors that have been considered the prominent factors in the evolvement of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases (RMDs). But first, we should highlight the point that RMDs encircle many different diseases which can affect a person at any age point. The most prevalent examples of the prevalence of RMDs are Osteoarthritis, Gout, and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).

Need For Biomarkers

The current etiology of RA is still unknown, multiple mechanisms of the phytopathogenic chain are thought to be involved. The ongoing progress made in the pathogenesis of RA has led to an interest in studying the biomarkers tangled in different stages of the disease.

The benchmarker used while studying Involves -

  1. Early Diagnosis
  2. Prognostic Indicators
  3. Monitoring Disease activity
  4. Selection of Therapy

Conclusion

As we move forward in the development, we see a future where biomarkers are fully indulged in the clinical practice and therapeutic development in rheumatology. The important perspective of the biomarker research is to help inform and personalize the choice of treatment that is recommended to the patients to enhance the clinical benefits.
