The 482 visa is divided into several streams. The Short-Term Stream is offered to stay in the country for 2 years. The Medium-Term Stream is to address labour shortages to bring overseas skilled workers for 4 years. The Labour Agreement Stream allows employers to nominate workers who have a labour agreement.
The 186 visa has three streams. One of the most popular streams is the Direct Entry Stream. The visa is granted to applicants whose occupation is in the occupation list. The Labour Agreement Stream gives permits skilled employers with a labour agreement to hire employees on a permanent basis.
