ABA Behavior Services

Children with autism spectrum disorder often have some degree of difficulty with speech and language use. The American Speech Language and Hearing Association defines a speech sound disorder in autistic children.

ODD and ABA therapy might help if your children have difficulty speaking the language. They will improve your children's speech and the use of language throughout the therapeutic process.

In this post, we have outlined the speech sound disorder exercises for children with autism spectrum disorder.

Speech Sound Disorder Exercises Provide Engaging Practice Repetition in Autistic Children

I-Spy

It is the best game that children love to play. A therapist presents the children with picture cards of the target sound that needs to be targeted for their growth. Saying things like, "I Spy something green." When they do find the object, give them praise or reward to encourage their continuous participation.

Scavenger Hunt

The game can serve as the next progression from I-Spy. It started with hiding objects around the house or room that started with the target sound. When they find the object, a therapist must praise the children to repeat the process.

Bingo

It is yet another excellent way to broaden one's experience. Simple bingo cards with photos of items that begin with the desired sound are first printed. The kids can call out BINGO to choose a prize once they have all the spots in a row.

Conclusion

These exercises will improve children's language and skills. Experts will observe the change in their behavior with ODD and ABA Therapy. Also, they will make the therapy more engaging with games so that the children enjoy it.
