Step 3: Embryo Transfer – Once enough viable embryos have been created by day 5 post-retrieval, the best-quality ones are selected based on morphological criteria set by the embryologist. Following the selection process, the chosen blastocyst(s) are loaded onto a catheter device connected to a syringe filled with specialized medium designed specifically to ensure a safe journey while being inserted into the uterine cavity. It reaches the desired implantation site, i.e., the endometrial lining of the inner walls of the uterus, where attachment takes place, leading to the establishment of pregnancy and, ultimately, the birth of a healthy child, fulfilling the dreams of the couple.
Step 4: Pregnancy Test – This step involves waiting for a specific period, typically around two weeks after embryo transfer, and then conducting a pregnancy test to determine if the IVF procedure was successful.
