REVIEW | topishare: the new social network?

I registered to topishare as one of its first users just after its beta launch in March. I am not a real social media fan, having shut down my facebook, twitter, and instagram accounts already a long time ago. I use reddit on occassion, but the horrible interface has not really been inviting.

But I wanted to give topishare a try, as it promised to keep my privacy, to give me back control (I really dislike FBs algorithms), and to provide a place for topic-based discussions.

The site looks clean and slick, and reminds me of pinterest. You can join (or create) so-called Kingdoms, that revolve around a variety of topics. I've created one on Social Innovation and it already has (right now) exactly 50 members that are actively posting and sharing, which I think is pretty cool.

What I have noticed in the past few months is that I really like that people react to what you post or comment. I don't think I've ever seen a post that did not have people interacting with it.

Now, what could be improved? Besides a few occasional bugs (I know it's beta, so I wont complain), it's hard to find people you know, I'd suggest them to create a tool that would allow you to easily find people you know already on topishare.

And I would like to have the possibility to customize the Kingdoms and add features to it, like live-streaming or as simple as an event calender. But I know they have several things in the pipeline.
