The Best Electric Skateboards Money Can Buy

These skateboards are battery powered and reduce your efforts in riding a longboard to virtually none. You can control them with a remote control (or by foot panels) by adjusting the speed and look just as cool as you would have with a regular skateboard. The only difference is, now you can meet your friends and colleagues without breaking a sweat and do your bit in reducing the pollution as well.

However, buying an electric skateboard is almost as complicated as buying a bike. You need to consider several factors like the top speed, range, deck material, and hill climbing capability. Do not fret, we have done all the research for you.

First up is Evolve's Bamboo One Board.

Evolve is a highly reputed company when it comes to electric boards. Their basic model – the Bamboo One Board, is for the novice rider. It is made of a 7-ply Canadian Maple wood platform sandwiched between 2-plies of Bamboo. The 37-inch (94 cm) deck length provides ample room to move your legs around. The wheels are 83 mm in size with an option to switch for larger ones. These wheels are primarily meant for hard surfaces like the pavement or tarmac and aren’t suitable for any kind of off-roading.

The motor provided is a 2000 W motor that can help power the electric skateboard to a speed of 22 mph (35 kph). Using bigger wheels, however, you can strive to achieve a top speed of 26 mph (42kph) and longer range as well. The range of the battery depends on a lot of factors including the driver’s weight and the terrain it is being driven on. Under the right circumstances, this electric longboard can last about 34 km.
