However, some apps manage to breach this security shield and get installed in your phone leading to corruption of data, drainage of battery power, and over usage of RAM. Hence, if your phone is also infected by such kind of malicious apps, then here are the ways to identify them and get rid of them.

Shut down phone till you find out the mischievous app

If you are sure that your phone is under attack by malware, then turn off the phone by pressing down the power button. It might not prevent the malware from causing damage, but it will stop the things from getting worse. It will also prevent malware from accessing nearby networks. Turning off the phone buys you some time to think and do research about the problem you are facing. Do you recognize the app that is causing the malware issue? Do you know whether it has installed any other software on the phone without your knowledge? If you are able to identify the issue, then turn on the phone but stop the phone internet data and Wi-Fi access. Next, remove the app that you are suspecting of having a malicious infection.

Switch to safe mode

If you want to isolate the problematic app for uninstalling it, then switch the phone to safe mode. You can do it by holding down the power button for few seconds when the device is on and then tapping on the POWER OFF option. It should show you a couple of options, including ‘Reboot to Safe Mode.’ In case you are not able to find the safe mode, then you can select airplane mode to restrict your phone from accessing any network. You can even get it on your phone’s notification bar. If you are not able to identify the app even after doing so, then you can reset the phone back to factory settings and flash your phone’s OS. Taking professional help will be wise to do such things.

Uninstall the app

In case you have been able to identify the app, then go to the app settings and uninstall the app from the system. Also, do not forget the clear the cache files and folders from your phone, which are left behind, even after uninstalling the app from the phone. If you have an antivirus installed on the phone, then scan your phone completely with it. To prevent such installation of infected software on your phone, always keep Google Play protect settings of the phone on. Also, keep the virus alert of the phone on to notify and eradicate the chances of a virus attack, which can harm your phone. Keep the phone’s OS updated and all the apps as well of the phone to keep the phone smoothly running and stop the invasion of the virus on your phone and keep it safe from them.
