The Last of Us is a highly popular action-adventure game set in the post-apocalyptic world of the United States of America. The game will be a part of HBO’s upcoming television adaptation. The writer of the show, Craig Mazin, stated that the characters of Joel and Ellie would be written in a cinematic way, and there will be no compromise on the representation of the characters.

Storytelling Allows a Better Representation of the Story

While talking to an international media outlet, Craig Mazin stated that storytelling of a game in a story format gives them the chance to bring out the details in a much better way. In addition to this, he said that ardent fans tend to worry if they hear that their favorite game will be adapted into a television show with different makers. However, the cases are different here. Mazin said that he is making the show with the people who made the game. So, there will be no change, but the game’s story will be shown in an enhanced way.

Neil Druckmann will be working alongside Mazin to stay true to the game’s story. The makers of the show agreed that there were a lot of expectations from the upcoming television show. Mazing further added that even though they were creating something new in a different format, everything will still stay the same. Also, though everything is going according to plan, HBO has not decided on a premiere date for The Last of Us.
