Recently, SMRT unveiled the third edition of the Tap for Hope initiative, aimed at supporting the President's Challenge. This initiative involves collecting funds from passengers traveling via MRT trains and buses to directly benefit more than 86 charities. The theme for this year's Tap for Hope is 'Caring for Caregivers,' recognizing the growing need for caregivers and their crucial role in supporting Singapore's healthcare and social support systems.

The third edition is launched in collaboration with the National Council of Social Services and will benefit 86 charities under the President's Challenge umbrella. Ms Sun Xueling, Minister of State for Home Affairs, and Social and Family Development, graced the launch event as the Guest-of-Honor at the Bayfront MRT station on the Circle Line.

Key Highlights of the Third Edition of Tap for Hope Fundraising Initiative

From December 11, 2023, to January 23, 2024, SMRT passengers can contribute donations of two, six, or eight dollars at donation stands installed at different train stations.

  •  TFH donations can be made by scanning a PayNow QR code.
  • Donors simply need to scan the provided QR code and make a direct donation.
  • Donations can be made via various payment modes, including Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Alipay+.
