What is the pricing for Copilot licenses?

While there may be changes in the future, three versions of Copilot are currently available. This Microsoft licensing guide details these:

Microsoft Copilot

For individuals seeking accurate information, crafting distinctive content, and achieving efficiency, a free Microsoft account offers a range of benefits. Users can use Copilot seamlessly across web platforms and various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and iPad iOS. Additionally, access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo is available during non-peak hours. The account enables users to conduct conversational searches using text, voice, and images.

Users can harness the power of Designer (formerly Bing Image Creator) to create and edit AI images. The allocation includes a generous limit of 15 boosts per day. The account also supports the use of plug-ins and GPTs for better functionality.

Microsoft Copilot Pro

Copilot Pro has a monthly subscription that takes your performance and creativity to new heights. In addition to the free Copilot features, subscribers can enjoy priority access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo. GPT-4 ensures faster task completion, even during peak times. Seamless integration with select Microsoft 365 apps empowers users to draft documents, summarize emails, create presentations, and more.

The subscription also provides an impressive allocation of 100 daily boosts with Designer (formerly Bing Image Creator). This facilitates the swift creation, editing, and resizing of AI images. Copilot Pro is your ticket to a faster and more efficient Copilot experience. The Pro version is for high performance and improved capabilities.

Microsoft 365 Copilot

Microsoft 365 Copilot is accessible to commercial customers at $30 per user per month. While this may seem steep, it’s crucial to recognize that Copilot is a premium add-on offering substantial advantages. To determine its value for your intended users, assess the efficiency gains it brings.

For many organizations, Copilot is valuable by saving time in material generation, content discovery, and other tasks. We recommend performing a cost-benefit analysis to ascertain whether Copilot meets your needs.

How do I get an M365 Copilot license?

As of now, Copilot for Microsoft 365 licenses are not fully disclosed. However, the following information is available:

  • It is an additional license on top of your M365 portfolio, requiring a license for any listed products to utilize this add-on.

  • Licensing doesn't need to cover all users; M365 Copilot is optional. You can selectively deploy it to users who would benefit the most, such as writers, editors, and content creators.
  • To fully utilize M365 Copilot, use Azure Active Directory Premium (Entra ID).
  • It would help if you were on the Current Channel or the Monthly Enterprise Channel for Microsoft 365 apps.
  • Once you understand the requirements, manage them easily through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center or consider alternative methods like Azure AD Group Membership or PowerShell options.
